Valérie Thornton is a Normal that is married to the current Head of the Thornton Family and lives in Ergastulum with her family. She and her husband are currently childless, although they have just started trying for a child. She doesn't really want the responsibility of carrying or raising a child but her husband and husband's family does and she knows that they need an heir. She is twenty-five years old, is 170 cm (5'7") without heels and has blood type A.

Her younger sister Éliane, married the current Mueller Family Head, while her older brother Corbin has firmly maintained his bachelor status. She doesn't have the closest relationship to her brother or father, but she is close to her mother and sister, in a way. Her relationship with her sister is more of a passive-aggressive rivalry than actual sibling love while her relationship with her mother is oftentimes incredibly strained, but she knows that she can always go to her mother for advice and help.
