This is so useful yet a bit funny because its self-explanatory. Most artists don't have the time or the interest to give lessons. I'll have to show this to others who seem to have the same issue. Clearly learning how to draw isn't a skill that you learn overnight or within a few days or weeks.

This is so true! It took me years to study the anatomy of wolves, and when I see my first wolf attempts and compare them with how my wolf drawings look now, I notice a lot of improvement!
ItΒ΄s all hard work and practice!

Exactly hehe and yet, people think there is a quick hack to it. Nope, it takes lots of practice.

They don't realize that most of the people whose art skills they worship have been serious about drawing since grade school. THERE IS NO SECRET.

This is SOOOO true. That is exactly how I learned. But I'm to the part where I can draw a wolf without a reference ALMOST, but the only times I need a reference is when I'm trying to draw where it's head is slightly turned, just enough to where you can see both eyes. :L I have trouble with that

That's how I'm learning, I have acheived far enough to understand the wolves anatomy with shapes to rough them out and add details to them, I still need reference on occasion though.

Thank you for this stamp! Dx I've many people ask me to teach them how to draw wolves, and I always tell them, "You'll have to look up refs and pactice, I can't teach you how to draw in the style I do. You have to find your own style."

Reminds me of the adage "don't give away the fish, give the fishing rod instead"
I remembered when I was looking how to draw a werewolf, I googled it and nothing helpful showed up. So i said "screw it, if I can't find how to do it, I must develop my own method -thus creating my own style-

Ofc n.n idk why people always assume its like..different mechanics for everything. like different creatures with similar DNA, the artistic process is like 99% the same for creating any drawing, just the appearance comes out a little different O_O
