Description Here's my version of the classic Steve Ditko cover to Amazing Spider Man #4 from September 1963. In this version, I only drew Spidey and Sand Man. ...everything else is from the original cover. This was done with india ink, pen, brush & photoshop colors.

The sandman looks awesome! A very authentic silver age rendition of the two! Thank you for posting!

I really like the Sandman in this shot; pose is dynamic, composition is good, and him forming up out of the sand pile is fun and interesting.

Unfortunately, Spider-Man loses out here. He almost seems added as an afterthought. I'm not sure if I'm articulating that correctly, and maybe it's because I feel that his placement/pose throws off the composition...but something is buggin' me about it. Something to think about.

Also, and this is a nitpick, but you did so well on his legs forming up out of the sand, but the point where Sandman's wrist is forming the hammer looks more like he punched into it, rather than is forming it. That make sense? It's minor, but just FYI.

Overall, I dig it. I'm REALLY liking these covers you're doing, and it's making me nostalgic for some older issues! Keep it up, Soldier!
