I think they were on sale for like $40 for my full set of somewhere between 100-120 markers from Amazon - the Soucolor ones, that is. A set of fineliner pens is probably a little less than $10. A gel pen is probably around $3, but I haven't bought a new one in like ten years (I'm pretty sure my current one was a gift from my aunt, lol), so I'm not sure. If you buy markers, though - especially Soucolor - you NEED to buy a mixed media/watercolor sketchbook (it reduces bleeding outside the lines and prevents warping of the paper) and be sure to place a couple pieces of plain paper underneath the page while you colour (because the ink will bleed through the paper). I will say that I'm pretty disappointed with the shades of purple and yellow in this brand - there are no purple midtones and no yellow pastels (just one fluorescent that came half-dried out). For me personally, though, it was worth the money. Even with the flaws that came with it, I'm quite happy with my purchase!

Yeah, tbh, using plain printer paper isn't the best for drawing. Using even a basic sketchpad gives drawings texture and just overall work and look better because of the "tooth" of the paper. I have one basic sketchpad that I use for purely inked drawings (that I digitally colour) or inked + coloured pencil, and then a heavy one for use with markers! (Not that I couldn't use the heavy one with ink and coloured pencils, but I think those papers are more expensive than the others.)

They are! tbh I looked at a few pieces of your Licker art to get in the vibe of the goopy tongue; I hope it doesn't look too heavily referenced? I can edit the description or something if you'd like. <3
