Ps. that was the Polish title. The tale came from Grimm brothers, and the original title is "Hänsel und Gretel".

But the Jaga (witch) is very popular person in Europe (especially East).

Nice picture

Oh no. "Hänsel und Gretel" is not the same fairy tale.

The girl from the story is Małgosia (Małgorzata), her brother was Jaś (Jan). Name of the witch was Jaga

"Jaś i Małgosia"

May be the girl is the Baba Yaga herself? In the very youth...

I'm not familiar with the Baba Jaga story, but I've read many similar ones. Very much fun! The cottage and all.

I doubt the girl is Vasilissa though. I mean.. is this the same Vasilissa the Wise that I know of? Maybe it is, but as I don't know this story.. ;D

Vasilla? I'm from the US and the story translation I've read is called Vasilla the Brave" If I'm thinking of the same story.

you did a wonderful job of capturing the wonder and enchantment of the house along with the *shudder* scary factor! which is what I love about the tale wonderful gallery I'm going through everything now!
