This is one of my first steps into Steampunk accessory. Lately im fired up for Steampunk, i allways liked the style and also wanted to do something in this direction but the real motivation came together with an invitation to a Steampunk-themed marriage. So here is one of my firsts
The cages where bought but turned out to be much bigger than i expected, so i was allways sneaking around them not knowing what to put inside, until i got the idea of a heart in chains. I sculpted the hearts out of polymer clay but found it a little boring so i ended up drilling some holes and adding a little more clay and some small clockparts. I wonder if i should add some more blood to them but right now i am pretty happy with how they turned out.

Those are bought i did only the hearts and the chains. Sorry therefore i don't know what wire was used, but i would gues that its not aluminium cause it seems stronger.

I think combining found objects with polymer clay makes for a more interesting result. The embedded objects can be assembled before curing in the oven, as long as they have a higher melting point than 110 degrees. The way you have combined the elements here is very interesting.
