Suicide 77,
I'm with ProjectcComment and I will attempt to critique your work:
I choose your image because it reminds me of my home in New Mexico. Actually, I thought it was New Mexico at first, but then I saw your tag. That said, I already have a bias towards your art. Also, I don't have much background with photography, so i'll just say what I have to say and hopefully you get something from it.
1. Composition: A+ I love the bands of blue-green and yellow in the foreground and middle ground, and I love how those bands are being bisected by the dirt road. Very interesting. The strong horizontal layers and gradual expanse into the precipitation walls is but one of many interesting features with this work.
2. Color: Typical colors of the high desert, but I have an affinity towards Sagebrush. I love those bluish/green pale colors in the vegetation. I would say a little color saturation in the sage closer to the viewer would be nice.
3. Light: Is very good, but I'd say lighten the exposure in-between the rain sheets and off towards the right and darken the foreground, especially the left side of the image to add a dramatic effect. The image may be slightly enhanced by bringing down the light intensity of the road so that way it's not competing with the sky. Just my two cents.
Lovely photo overall! I would definitely love to paint this, such a great shot.

Oh absolutely! With the right lighting and some splashes of exagerated color, I think the dynamic of the shot would change quite a bit. Great shot overall

Hello, Suicide77, I am from ProjectComment and I came to critique your art!
Now now, don't worry about anything, I have only nice things to say! ^^
I have seen rain from afar before but this is stunning. Photographing it from so far away like this- you have really captured the moment here. The brighter more colorful foreground and the rainy gray and blöue background collide with each other in a peaceful way. Many times that doesn't work, especially in nature I have noticed. But here you have made it look like the mountains come up from some sea way back there and it's the water from the sky pulling the mountains up.
It's really really good and I can confidently say that; A) This picture does not need any extra effects to look better and B) this piece of art will get the ProjectComment's stamp of approval!

Thank you! Yeah, it was a very dark evening. The temperature descended from over 100 to the 50's.
