Description Yeah! New post...

This was part of a three part series for my Illustratin II class. We had to experiment with different styles and medium. This is more of a departure for me since I'm used to inking then color but this was pieced together using colored pencil drawings in photoshop.

It depicts the story of Princess Gandigan, the princess of Singkil which is a Filipino folkdance...I guess I'm a little obsessed. I do like the way this turned out though.

I somewhat disagree with melihitchcock. i find the fuzziness kinda nostalgic or wistful of the past of the beautiful culture in the Philippines. Plus, it completes the fluid feel of the piece. Please make a print of this available! I'd love to see this on my wall.

I absolutely LOVE the line work in this! My only beef is I think the coloring via photoshop is some what detracting from it. Not to say that the two mediums can't work well, but it takes lot more exploring with it. One thing that I suggest is to not use solely the airbrush tool as it makes everything so fuzzy and undefined. Go with a harder edge, lower the opacity and blend that way. For areas you want to have a hazy glow in order to emphasize certain parts, use that airbrush. The key is knowing where to apply it.
