Deidara walked down to his locker. Lunch was next. He just hoped he could survive until school ended.

"Hey, Deidara."

"Hi, Konan, un." Deidara said and smiled to his friend.

"Want to join me for lunch?" Konan asked.

"Sure, un." The blonde said and shut his locker.

Deidara ate his rice balls contently, wishing he had more than just rice balls.

"Hello, Deidara." Itachi said and sat next to Deidara.

"O-oh, h-hi, Itachi, un." Deidara stammered.

"That isn't much of a lunch." Itachi stated and bit into a dango.

"Y-yeah, un. My dad didn't really pack me anything today, un. Had to make it myself, yeah." Deidara mumbled.

"Here." Itachi said and picked up a piece of sushi with his copsticks. "Open up."

Konan was snickering and had a hand over her mouth to silence herself.

"W-what, un?" Deidara squeaked.

"Open up, I'll feed you." Itachi assured the blond and pressed the sushi against his lips.

Deidara shyly opened his mouth and allowed Itachi to feed him.

"Here, take this. I have plenty." Itachi said and handed Deidara some mochi and a dango.

"T-thanks, un." Deidara mumbled.

"You're welcome." Itachi answered and stood up, scrunching his paper lunch bag.

Deidara ate the mochi and the dango quickly and packed up his lunch.

"I'm gonna walk home with Itachi, un." He announced to Konan and walked away.

"Ok, well this sucks." Konan groaned and stared at her sashimi.

"H-hey, Itachi. Would you mind walking home with me, un?" Deidara asked. School was now over and Itachi looked just about to get on the bus.

"Weren't you coming to my house?" Itachi raised an eyebrow and broke away from the bus line.

"Oh, y-yeah, un. Of course. I just forgot, yeah." Deidara stammered and started walking, a light blush tinting his cheeks.

"It's ok, I'll walk with you." Itachi said needlessly as he walked beside Deidara.

"Y-yeah--ahhhh!!" Deidara screamed as he tripped in a pothole.

"Whoa!" Itachi said and caught Deidara's arm. "Are you ok?"

Deidara was halfway on the ground, his foot twisting in a very odd direction.

"No, un!" Deidara shouted and started cursing.

"Can you put weight on your foot?"

Deidara gingerly put is foot up and wrenched it back up, tears stinging his eyes. He shook his head.

"Then I propose we just take you to your house. We can hold up on my house." Itachi announced and picked Deidara up bridal style.

"W-what are you doing, un?" Deidara sqeaked and turned dark red.

"You can't carry yourself," Itachi said to the blond. "so I'll do it for you."

'He's carrying me!! He's carrying me like I'm his girlfriend or something!! Well...hold up on the girl part. Deidara thought and bit his lip.

Oh, god. He felt like he was dreaming. Again.

They walked until they came to Deidara's house.

"Y-you can put me down, un." Deidara murmured.

"I should come in." Itachi said and put Deidara on the ground, letting him rest his weight on his shoulder.

"No! You really won't like my home, un." Deidara said quickly.

"Ok, ok. But I insist. Is anyone there to help you?" Itachi asked.

"Y-yeah! My dad's here, un!" Deidara insisted.

"I still want to come in." Itachi growled and opened the door.

"You're home late, boy."

"Sorry, sir, un." Deidara mumbled.

"Get dinner started!" The man shouted from the living room.

"Yes, sir, un." Deidara said and pulled away from Itachi.

"Wait!" Itachi hissed and pulled Deidara back.

"What, un!? I have to start dinner, yeah!" Deidara hissed back.

"Let me stay. I'll help, you're in no condition to make dinner." Itachi growled.

"Hurry up, boy!"

"C-coming, sir, yeah!" Deidara shouted back and broke away from Itachi. "It's better if you just leave, un!"

"No, I won't." Itachi hissed and pushed passed Deidara, dragging the blond along with him.

"What's he doing here, boy?" A man on the couch growled at the Uchiha.

"I helped Deidara back. He hurt his ankle." Itachi said calmly and narrowed his eyes.

"The boy can take care of himself, right boy?" The man hissed and shot a glare at Deidara.

"It's true, Itachi, un! I can take care of myself, go home, yeah!" Deidara insisted.

"Fine then." Itachi sighed and left Deidara leaning on the table. He left the room and the house, closing the door behind him.

"What were you thinking bringing people home, boy!?" The man snarled.

"I told him not to, honest, un!" Deidara cried out and winced as he put weight on his foot.

The man got up and pushed him against the table.

Deidara flinched at the table corner dug into his spine.

"I-I really did tell him, dad, un!" Deidara assured him as he felt tears well up in his eyes.

Deidara's father narrowed his eyes and slapped the blond across the face.

"Think twice before you lie to me boy." He growled and walked away, letting Deidara slump to the floor, tears going down is face.
