I predict Victini is fine. I'm more worried for someone else right now, and it's not Jen.

Jen, don't you dare go look over the edge. Focus on the mission. Victini either hangs on till you put the relic back or they fall.

To quote a TV Trope Trope name, "Like You Would Really Do It". It wouldn't be that much of a surprise if it turned out that Victini MIRACILOUSLYΒ survived somehow. Or if they came back later.

Next page...she looks over the edge to see Victini unconscious and in the hands of Mewtwo who is still floating around on the bottom section.
That's my prediction.

you know unless after being through out Victini hits her head on the edge and then still falling until reach mewtwo i don't see how she end up unconscious just for a kick in the stomach so make more sense to she remaind hanging
btw i don't get why do you say that if she is just hanging is a cliche without build up, i mean Jen throght her away she is gonna fall somewhere, that sounds like a build up for me

GuyroMaster In reply to spamer921 [2018-05-01 20:36:39 +0000 UTC]
A cliche means that the idea is used over and over. The hanging by ledge is cliche because it's been done many many times in many forms of media. This comic tends not to use cliches as I've observed. If you look at the position of Victini and the trajectory of where her eyes are looking, she's not even looking for the edge but down into the abyss. Maybe not unconscious...but I'm fairly sure she's not hanging from the ledge nor is she dead. She might be unconscious if she landed on another floating rock on her head...or bounces off that and then falls further.
Again as I said to another commentor, we'll find out if I'm right or not on Friday.

so i know what's a cliche;Β but you still don't explain what do you mean by " Victini is hanging off the edge for dear life. No build up or reason it happens."
becuase when something without build up happens is call a DEUX EX MACHINA not a cliche
althought I agree with the other possibilities that you mention if Victini fall the abyss.

I thought deux ex machina was involving something else. I think the term for both ClichΓ© and Deux Ex Machina are called Tropes....I think. I remember a website about the different types of "tropes".
π: 0 β©: 1
spamer921 In reply to GuyroMaster [2018-05-01 21:23:06 +0000 UTC]
well not exactly, a "trope" is a way to call a story or character what/who has a predefine structure for example :
-a trope plot/story would be "the attack of the clones"Β where a character someway makes copies or clones of himself whoseΒ came out of control and the conflic is to stop the clones without harm the original person.
- trope character is for example "the hysterical one"; often on horror movies; who is a guy that by trying of save his own skin dies and makes things worse for the rest of charcacter.
all things that by definnition areΒ cliches.
but solving a conflicΒ with something that wasn't previusly stablishe; is not a trope nor cliche is a flaw on the story telling; and using the comic as example if sufurbunny would not made the trainnig session where Jen reveals to know Tae Kwan do; she beating with said martial arts Victini would be a Deux ex machina

GuyroMaster In reply to spamer921 [2018-05-01 21:45:34 +0000 UTC]
I thought it's a Deux ex Machina when said character suddenly knows something to defeat their opponent that they didn't originally know. I'd have to double check my info. I'm on my phone so I don't have info in front of me.

spamer921 In reply to GuyroMaster [2018-05-01 21:59:52 +0000 UTC]
yeah it is basically what i said "solving a conflic/problemΒ with something that wasn't previusly established"

Shade-C-Llewellyn In reply to GuyroMaster [2018-05-01 16:03:22 +0000 UTC]
then again most things are cliche lol. hardly anything is truly original anymoreΒ
π: 0 β©: 1
GuyroMaster In reply to Shade-C-Llewellyn [2018-05-01 16:15:08 +0000 UTC]
The reason I say cliche is because it just happens that Victini is hanging off the edge for dear life. No build up or reason it happens.
However the Mewtwo catches Victini idea isn't cliche because it's reasonable that since he fell down to the lowest part of the floating platforms in earlier page he might have happened to drift under the battle area and catch Victini when she falls.

GuyroMaster In reply to Shade-C-Llewellyn [2018-05-01 16:25:15 +0000 UTC]
As an RPer/Story builder...these are things I constantly have to consider so that I can keep the story from being predictable and get boring. I honestly never felt one moment in this comic that was cliche. And if you think about it...this comic has done an amazing job of doing what I call "set ups". The one that just came up in the last pages was her Tai Kwon Do usage. Way back in her move training with Gengar and Kecleon...she showed the ability and then here in this negative space...it's all she can fight with. The "set up" to reach a conclusion of an individual event.

GuyroMaster In reply to Shade-C-Llewellyn [2018-05-01 18:08:40 +0000 UTC]
So that's why I think that Victini is going to fall onto the platform that Mewtwo is on...instead of be holding the ledge. I could be wrong still...but that's my theory.
π: 0 β©: 1
GuyroMaster In reply to Shade-C-Llewellyn [2018-05-01 20:58:10 +0000 UTC]
Also...another possible outcome is Victini is on a floating rock down below unconscious. We'll find out Friday.

GuyroMaster In reply to Shade-C-Llewellyn [2018-05-01 23:05:33 +0000 UTC]
Or that fails and she falls further from that spot which is how Mewtwo comes in catching her unconscious.
