This is my entry to the Gears of War 3 Contest. It's a shame that my monitor isn't calibrated so I'm guess from here on out >_<Good luck to everyone that enters...Brothers till the end!!!

I have to agree with the below reply. You made a FANTASTIC piece. It all reflects upon who judged it, and what their taste in art is. What they like. You are like me...warm colors...high contrast. You were much more accurate in your approachI think though, like with the armor. I loved the textures you used as well! Nice action scene. I love the way it moves from those warm tones to the blue...but you still put the red back there to balance it off.
Critiques...the few things that point out to me, the arm's anatomy looks slightly off... and the gun just truly amazes me...however, it doesn't seem to flow with the slightly more painterly style of the rest of the picture. The gun is so precise looking...but you could also look at that as an emphasis point. I think if you worked on his face a bit more, Nock-out!

I have to agree with you. You seemed to jump into my head in regards to what was continually plaguing me during the final stages in the piece. Focal points are still something I need lots of work on along with anatomy. Thanks your you critque! it's helps a alot

Yeah...for me...my weaknesses are composition at times, male anatomy, monsters, and I'm also not very good at the whole overly detailed work...I like things simple at times....this was definitely a challenge for me if I ever took on one. Good luck to you in the future! Keep drawing!

Nice color. I feel like the most time was spent on the gun and the blast as it appears more detailed, crisp and more properly proportioned than other aspects of the image. The monster behind him looks like its close enough to be hitting him, perhaps his stance could make the image more exciting, but I enjoy the perspective that Marcus draws in the picture. Great work!

This is great brother. I don't think you were over looked. I really believe they put submissions in different categories. I think you were secretly battling some upper level material that is all.
