Species: Dragon

Born from fire, the Firestorm's life is tied to their flame. The Firestorms have no need for food or any other forms of nutrients since their lives are typically brief. While the fire they were born from burns, Firestorms can survive anything, even water which is their bane. But once the flame is extinguished, so too is the life of the Firestorm that came from it. Firestorms thrive best in the North, where the cold is bitter and warmth is needed. Humans will tend their fires with great care and the lives of those Firestorms are spared for the time being.

A Firestorm's life is very brief, but they burn brightly while they live.

Behavior: Firestorms are aware of their brief lives and they don't do anything to extend it. They live life to the fullest with no hesitations. Their carefree natures give human nothing to fear and their short lives create awareness of how short our own lives are.

Diet: Firestorms require no food due to short lifespans.

Element: Fire

Human Interactions: In the far northern territories where it snows almost constantly, Firestorms are considered so sacred, killing one was a crime. Every flame that is created lasts for years and candles are forbidden in these territories to protect the Firestorms. In return, these Firestorms protect those territories fiercely. One Firestorm's flame has stayed lit for centuries, preserving the dragon it birthed.

In war, Firestorms are purposely created for battle only. Once the fight is over, the flames are put out, ceasing the existence of their Firestorms.

Size: 1 foot to 3 feet in length.

Tamers: Firestorm tamers are all women, regardless of training. Odd, since the first Firestorm tamer was a man.

Traits: Scales are a bright, fiery orange, underbelly a pale yellow, wing membrane a dark red, horns as black as ash, and their eyes are a startling blue.

This is for an anime writing contest my mom informed me on. I'm entering it because she wants me to win instead of one of her students that she also informed, and HELLO!!!!- ANIME WRITING CONTEST!!! Why would I be THAT stupid to pass up this opportunity?!
