Description
This is Cillian Foley, lieutenent of Division 4 alongside Risten. His armband signifies he is a part of the field/combat medic department. The funnest thing about him is his super thick Irish accent!

Cathan is notable as one of the few souls that has essentially forgotten his former human life. He was a Catholic monk and scribe that was killed in a Norman raid on his monastery in the early 1300s. His soul was one that was left in limbo for hundreds of years (like Clio), and by the time he was picked up by a Shinigami the second Quincy war was almost over.

Cillian, upon arrival at soul society, had no memory of who he was, just a set of skills that were seemingly random (such as the ability to speak and write in Gaelic, Greek, and Latin) and a natural affinity for reishi manipulation.

The Shinigami that brought him over felt bad about the amnesia, so he took Cillian under his wing, and invited him into his home. Soon enough, as roommates Cillian picked up and began learning more about his own spiritual pressure and Shinigami in general, but had no real desire to become one himself.

However, when his roommate was deployed for the Espada war, Cillian began to change his mind about being a Shinigami... and actually changed his mind when he discovered his roommate had gone MIA. He took the entrance exam and passed easily, and at the academy had a step above his peers thanks to his roomie. He excelled in kido and hakuda, and in faxt the only area he lacked in was zanjutsu. However, he managed to manifest his Shikai in his second year at the academy, and subsequently was able to graduate two years early.

After graduation Cillian joined the 13th Division, guaranteeing him a spot in a deployment to Hueco Mundo. During the war, he ranked up steadily, and on leave decided to transfer to the second division, hoping to get training in scouting and tracking. He was able to transfer into a seat, the 12th, and operated there for a few months before he was injured in battle. A Division 4 field medic attended to him, and while in recovery Cillian became extremely interested in the department, including its search and rescue team. Upon recovery Cillian transferred again, right into the field medics, and had to go through a year of training and shadowing before returning to full duty. While in training, his department located his old roommate, injured but alive.

Though his original goal for joining the Gotei was filled, Cillian was engrossed in his new field, and ranked all the way up to 3rd seat by the end of the war. He remained there up to the Shadow War, when Grant, his lieutenant, was promoted to co-captain and Cillian gained the lieutenant's spot.

He swears almost constantly, and not much can be said about his bedside manner. He is pretty non-confrontational, and prefers staying out of messes and drama, choosing to focus on work and study instead. His work ethic is incredible, and his patience and focus allows him to stay still and work on any takes for much longer than a normal person. When it comes with relationships with other people, Cillian enjoys the company of others, but has learned to stay quiet and observant, knowing his loud mouth can drive people away.
