Description A la Concentration #2! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. . . but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who completely understands the picture. As in, what it means, not the purpose of the picture. I don't think that makes sense, but oh well. Actually, I'm willing to be no one could tell me what is happening in the pic. Any takers?

Took about 6hrs -- that also includes research time. ^^

i took one look at this pic and i feel in love with it...it holds so much meaning
the heart is heavier then the feather of Ma'at means that the person has sinned and is not able to enter the afterlife
to me it can also hold meaning in the sins of humans and saying that thoth is sad or disappointed in all that he has seen pass though him in resent years...so many things is could stand for but that is what it looked like to me

Ah! Thank you so much for the compliment.
I think you found more meaning in it than I did.

If I could add my two cents here I would state that it was the sorrow that Thoth felt after seeing his beautiful Atlantis inspired civilization of Ancient Egypt degrade back the barbarians that it originally started off as. He feels utmost sadness at seeing all that he has built to, become nothing in a matter of a few generations where the subsequent pharaohs deemed themselves gods, but were merely stewards to the true gods of the Pantheon.

I understand!

The heart weighs more than the feather of Ma'at which means the person has sinned and is therefore not pure enough to reach the afterlife.

The heart will be eaten by Ammit the Eater of Hearts and the person in question will be doomed for an eternity of oblivion.

It's sad, his expression. I feel for him.

Intresting--I've never seen the guy portrayed as an actual bird before. Always just been a dude wearing a bird mask.

uhoh, the heart is heavier than the feather of Ma'at not the most desireable outcome

gerat job though, i really like how you render Thoth, he looks so sadthat yet another has failed the triel and will now be fed to Ammit.

keep it up though! i really like the egyptian mythology stuff!

. . . I don't know how you do it. . . I spend 30 minutes on a picture and leave it alone 'cuz it's not gettin' any prettier folks! But you have such beautiful detail in your art, that I'm just. . . loss of words. . .
