A Tribute to the Dark Genius of Literature
This stunning black and white artwork depicts a cafe named after one of the most enigmatic and influential writers of the 20th century, Franz Kafka. The use of black and white perfectly captures the haunting and unsettling atmosphere of Kafka's literary universe.
This pathway is rather bright and lively in real life, but instead I decided to draw this in black and white as a representation of Kafka's literary style; Kafkaesque.
This mesmerizing artwork shows us the street in which the café is housed in Prague, which is only a small representation of a city steeped in history and mystery. The buildings on either side of the street tell its own story. Some are grand and imposing, while others are humble and worn down with a narrow cobblestone street.
The use of black and white adds to the haunting quality of the artwork, evoking the sense of timelessness that permeates Prague. This is a city that has seen centuries of history unfold. This work transports you to another place and gives you a simple appreciation for travel and a world filled with many cultures.
