BASIC INFO
Name: Seeley H. Crvena [pronunciation: Seal-lee,, Sir-v-nuh]
Nickname/s: Ley, Seal face
Age: 22 (debut); 24 (after time skip)
Birthday: October 13th
Height: 5'5" (170 cm)
Species: Human
Blood Type: AB-
Tattoo/s: Large tribal neck tattoo, chevron tribal design on both shoulders, 4 small bands on upper forearms, 2 small bands and 1 large band on both forearms, and tribal anklet design. She got these tattoos right after she left her home island because they were the same tattoos her mother had before she passed away. Eventually, both her and Usopp get matching cross tattoos on their hands during the Saoboady Archipalego arc.
STATUS
Affiliation: Vodu Pirates (daughter of former member); Strawhat Pirates (current)
Epithet: "Deadman Crvena" was her original epithet, but it later changed to "Undead Crvena." Her epithet is a sort of double-entendre; whilst her devil fruit does allow her to cheat through death in certain ways the marines also had her assumed KIA after her and her family were attacked whilst tyring to escape their island.
Occupation/Role: Connections advisor/Religious expert
Bounty: 80,000,000 (wanted poster added soon). After meeting the Strawhat pirates, Seeley's bounty was increased to 80,500,000; she also ended up increasing the Strawhats bounties as well. Seeley attracts a lot of attention to herself for many different reasons; she is both striking in appearance and in attitude. Her careless nature and laidback attitude give her a distinction between the average pirate, and her brash fighting nature also does the trick. Shortly after the events of Whole Cake her bounty is increased to 480,000,000 beli due to how much destruction she caused.
PERSONAL INFO
Morality: Chaotic Neutral
Personality: Seeley is generally best described as strange, and sometimes even downright scary. Her own nakama even find it hard to interact with her at times due to her odd behaviors. This is normally seen as creepy phrases or actions, and she can seem outcast from the crew for this - they love her like family, but she has a difficult time interacting. She is rather tomboyish, but she wears rather girly clothes to accentuate herself. She is laidback and careless, and most times it seems she doesn't really care for the consequences of anything, even if those consequences hurt herself or others. She enjoys sticking to the edge of the attention and observing from afar, but she usually ends up joining in on the fun once asked. She finds comfort in slipping into the shadows, and normally ends up making a loud and proud appearance. She has an incredibly strong will and never strays when it comes to her religion. Her morals are lackluster and she doesn't mind being considered the bad guy in order to get stuff done. Seeley is really hard to anger, but once she is her grudge will never be broken. She is always careless with herself because of her devil fruit, and almost always throws herself in the heat of danger to help a friend. She enjoys adventure, but is not often one to seek it. Seeley would rather sit back and observe everyone else before she allows herself to relax.
Virtues: Loyal, humorous, unafraid, confident, carefree, calming
Flaws: Irresponsible, reckless, scary, askew moral compass, overpowering will
Likes: Sanji's cooking, fighting strong opponents, talking with Brook, circuses, fashion, protecting her friends
Dislikes: Losing, being embarrassed, celestial dragons, asking for help, children, slave owners, the Bleu family (especially Alouette)
Hobbies: Goofing off with Luffy, teaching Robin about her religion, gaining friends/connections, telling stories of her youth, making jack-o-lanterns, shopping with Nami
Quirks...
— She can eat the crew out of house and home, and is only bested by Luffy.
— Expresses her feelings very inappropriately and often times she laughs during sad or emotional times, or cries when she is mad.
— Sleeps very soundly in the RIP position but is deathly scared of coffins.
Special Skills...
— She is incredibly flexible and spindly, and can be considered a contortionist with how well she can control her body.
— Has a will so strong it could be considered on par with conquerors haki - she can pressure anyone with her will alone.
— A connections expert, Seeley has connections from every island and always knows a guy who can help them out.
Quote/s...
— "Don't worry about me, the day someone can kill me is the day Luffy finds the One Piece."
— "Oh Usopp, lets go steal the watermelons Sanji bought and carve them!"
— "Ah, dammit! I left Sacrilege back on the Merry! How am I supposed to fight now?"
Ambition: To spread her religion to her world.
COMBAT INFO
Fighting Style...
— Type: Muay Thai (examples here )
— Description: This form of fighting focuses on using the shins, elbows, knees, and fists as main points of contact. Users sharpen their mind and observational skills to best their opponent. Seeley started using this style as a child because of her fathers teachings, and every year her father and her would visit an island in the North Blue to visit his sisters. They often stayed at this island for weeks to months, and this is where Seeley met the Demetriov twins. They taught her more advanced versions of muay thai, and they even taught her how to incorperate a sword into this fighting style. She is incredibly skilled in this form of combat and makes it seem incredibly easy and casual for her.
Weapon...
— Name: Sacrilege (giant cross weapon, here )
— Usage: Seeley uses this weapon in unison with her muay thai fighting style. The cross is used as a blunt melee weapon, and later gets upgraded by Franky and Usopp to have a gun added to the center and others extras to help make the weapon more durable and deadly. She was gifted Sacrilege by her father, and it was gifted down to him by his father. It always went down to this children of the Crvena bloodline with the purple-pink hair gene, rather than the pink-purple hair gene. She began her training very early so she would be able to use Sacrilege, and on the island off the North Blue she met Alouette Blu, along with the circus and the Demetriov twins. Alouette taught her how to use her sword and become more comfortable with it, and in turn Seeley taught Alouette how to steal. Seeley was granted Sacrilege at 16, 2 years before she set sail.
Devil Fruit...
— Name: Budou Budou no mi
— Meaning: Voodoo voodoo fruit
— Class: Paramecia
— Ability: Allows the user to transform into a 'voodoo doll' form. When this form is activated, the user is able to transfer any and all wounds to others, and she is able to survive through any wound. Wounds afflicted on her will regenerate if they aren't transfered to someone else. By using this ability as often as possible, Seeley has taken it even further than the previous user. She is also granted superhuman strength and speed, and her contortionism is also improved.
— Strengths: Regeneration, high pain tolerance, in voodoo form she cannot die, resistant to poisons, and the shock factor of appearance change.
— Weaknesses: Can't be used to take wounds from others, any wounds to her outside of her voodoo form are painful and rather slow to heal (they still heal faster than normal). The user also must take extreme measures to produce red blood cell count otherwise her regeneration is highly slowed and could cause more damage to her body. Chopper is aware of this and is constantly doting over Seeley whenever she is injured. The act of transforming into her voodoo form is also mentally tolling so she has a lot of late night talks with Brook and Robin to help clear her headspace and make sure she is mentally sound.
Haki...
— Type: Busoshoku (Armament Haki); Kenbunshoku (Observational Haki)
— Proficiency: Average; Expert
— Origin: She first awakened armament haki during the Thriller Bark arc whilst fighting alongside Brook. She already had increidble observational haki due to learing muay thai fighting, and she has only thus improved with it since. Her observational haki is on par if not better than Zoro's.
RELATIONSHIPS
Family...
— Sookie H. Crvena: Twin sister.
Seeley and Sookie are the closest of friends, and they know eachother better than they know themselves. The two sisters left their fathers to become pirates at a young age, but after a rough storm hit their small boat they were thrown to different islands and lost touch. Sookie ended up in Impel Down and spent a long few years there, solely for her fathers reputation. Seeley was sent to Thriller Bark where she got to know Brook shortly before the Strawhats passed through. Both Brook and her joined the Strawhat crew, and later during the Impel Down arc they recruit Sookie as well.
— Vesna: Mother (deceased).
Seeley's mother died during childbirth with Sookie, so Seeley got only 4 years with her. Seeley vaguely remembers her mothers looks, and her voice, but she finds it hard to say that is her mother. Seeley got Vesna's tattoos as a reminder of who and where she came from. She was told many stories from her father when she was 6-7, but soon her father found another and fell in love. Seeley never much thought about her mother after her father got another lover.
— Branko H. Crvena: Father.
Seeley has always been incredibly close to her father, he was always there when she was down. Eventually, marines flooded the island they lived and Branko packed up his two daughters and fled, and he ended up on Kuraigana. This is where Branko finally packed himself up from the death of his late wife and found love again within Mihawk. Mihawk and Branko were fathers to the two girls, and Seeley always thought of Mihawk as her true parent. Mihawk helped her with her training as she grew older and Branko taught her of the world. Eventually, Branko faked his death to hide from the world government and marines, and shortly after Seeley and Sookie left the island to become pirates.
Friends...
— Demetriov brothers:
The closest friends of Seeley who were contornionists in a circus. Seeley made friends with them while traveling with Branko; shortly after becoming friends they taught her how to steal and fight, they even taught her how to control her body. However, the boys were punished for being late by their celestial dragon owner. Seeley tried to protect them but ended up getting the two brothers killed. Once her father found her she explained and Branko taught her about the celestial dragons.
— Alouette Bleu: Another childhood friend of Seeley's. Whilst in the North Blue with Branko, she took in the sights of the town and eventually ran into Alouette. Since her and her father were staying for a while, Seeley became good friends with Alouette. The older girl taught Seeley how to sword fight and was the one who gifted her the budou budou no mi. The two girls ate devil fruits together, but were then found by Alouette's mother - Yavnia. The woman was furious that Alouette gave a devil fruit to some lowly girl and almost killed Seeley had it not been for the devil fruit. Seeley eventually was able to hit the woman to get away, and from that age she made a bounty for herself because the woman was an incredibly rich important woman with ties to the Vinsmoke family. She placed a bounty on Seeley's head, and due to what happened Seeley began to resent Alouette.
Nakama...
— Monkey D. Luffy:
She loves her captain to death and she always finds a way to get into trouble with him. They both are rather careless and reckless with themselves and their carefree attitudes make them get along so well. Seeley trusts Luffy without a doubt and knows that no matter what, she can lean on him. Seeley actually admires Luffy's determination and wishes she could be more like him and less careless. Seeley is also scared of Luffy in some ways because she knows how strong his will is, and she knows it rivals her fathers. The two are usually sleeping together or goofing off, and they never miss an opportunity to compete over who can eat more food (much to the others displeasure). Luffy is also one of the only few crewmates who encourage her creepy habits, and Luffy has never once even shown fear to Seeley (which is actually the reason why she joined the Strawhats in the first place).
— Roronoa Zoro:
Zoro and Seeley aren't the closest of friends on the crew, but Seeley greatly admires Zoro. The two are as close as any of the other Strawhats, and she considers him her brother by everything other than blood. After hearing about his time with Mihawk, Branko, and Perona, she admires his determination and will just as much as she admires Luffy and declares that her, Sookie, Perona, and Zoro are all adopted siblings. Seeley also trains with Zoro and helps him with his form and creating new moves. The two are also drinking buddies and normally fall asleep in the crow's nest after drinking.
— Nami:
Nami finds Seeley creepy sometimes, but she is still a great friend to her. Seeley and Nami are often gossiping or shopping, and they never pass an opportunity to scam some poor lad out of his money. Seeley finds Nami to be annoying sometimes, but always enjoys drinking and talking with her. When Seeley first joined the crew, Nami was quite freaked out by her but after they went through her arc (right after Thriller Bark) and Nami learned of her past, she held a deep compassion for the older woman. Seeley always goes to Nami for advice, especially with boy advice. Seeley also feels that Nami is very impressive - just like Usopp, Nami doesn't have any great power or super amazing weapon, but she is still just as strong as any other member of the crew.
— Sanji:
Seeley and Sanji are an unlikely pair of friends who are almost always together. At first, Sanji was constantly flirting with her and then one day he just stopped - it seemed to the others that Seeley became closer to Sanji and the two are best friends. Seeley always goes to Sanji for advice or just to talk, and she never shies away from helping him out in the kitchen. Sanji enjoys her company and although he finds her attractive, once he became closer and learned of her knowledge of the Vinsmoke family and who he was, he became closer to her than most (he still has pervy moments though).
— Chopper:
Chopper is basically a stress ball for Seeley. Anytime she is feeling unsure, anxious, nervous, or any bad feeling, she heads over to Chopper and he has a way of making her feel so collected and calm. She is often with him since her devil fruit allows her to get injured more than most. She feels that chopper greatly resembles the Demetriov brothers and she wants to protect him at all costs, since she couldn't protect them. She admires how collected and serious Chopper becomes when he is working on a patient.
— Robin:
Robin and Seeley had a rather rocky start with eachother. Seeley had always been a reserved person, much like Robin before joining the crew. Seeley always felt like Robin was examining her and trying to see her deepest secrets; it made Seeley nervous to be around her and often she would even be rude to the older woman. Eventually, Seeley understood that Robin had been through a similar childhood as she had and they connected. Seeley often talks to her religion as Robin says she has seen some mentions of the religion in the poneglyphs. Seeley and Robin can often been found talking over tea whilst the older woman logs what she says.
— Franky:
The two strangest pair on the Strawhat crew, Franky and Seeley get along better than most pairs on the crew. Just like Luffy and Brook, Franky never once looked at Seeley with fear in his eyes. Being born on the South Blue but never being able to experience the area, Seeley often asked Franky about the South blue. She loved hearing about Tom and the seatrain, and she was happy to hear out Franky and his thoughts. Franky was the first one she shared her history with, because she knew he would never judge her. The two often are found inside his workshop and Seeley would watch him working or tinkering.
— Brook:
Brook is the one who understands Seeley the most. The two met on Thriller Bark shortly before the Strawhats came through. Her devil fruit and strange habits have made her excluded from everyone around her, and gaining a bounty at such an early age made her much more lonely than most. Brook and Seeley have long talks in the aquarium room together; they talk about life, religion, death, and more. Brook also understands her need for challenege far more than the others do - she wants to engage stronger and stronger opponents so she knows if her devil fruit will ever fail her. Brook understands lonliness and they reflect on their lives together. Seeley also admires Brook; she enjoys strange and creepy things and she finds it easier to talk to Brook since it feels like back home on Kuraigawa Island. Brook also doesn't mind her strange habits and how she sometimes seems creepy/scary; for as long as he could remember he was considered scary and strange by anyone who saw him, and he himself even felt that way.
Love Interest...
— Usopp:
Usopp and Seeley are an interesting pairing, and it honestly amazed the crew (especially Nami) that they got together. Seeley was never much a flirt, but when she say Usopp it was like love at first sight. Suddenly, and much to her chagrin, she had become the female version of Sanji but only for Usopp. He was actually surprised that a woman was flirting with him, but she came with the creepy skeleton dude so he thought she was a succubus or demon trying to seduce him. After she joined the crew, Usopp was a little wary but her flirting and teasing always made him become a bright red tomato. Right before the timeskip, Seeley confessed to him but they were caught in the Kumo fight and she didn't get an answer till after the two year timeskip. Usopp had the cross tattoo on his hand to remind him of her, and he worked hard for her while away from the crew. Once the crew rejoined, Usopp and Seeley finally got together, and shortly after they got married.
Seeley always know Usopp will be her shoulder to cry on, and he will be her support even if he is terrified. She is always protecting Usopp, and she never finds his cowardess annoying and often just drags him along for the ride anyways. The two seemed like an unusual pair, but once you got to know them you knew they were an amazing couple.
HISTORY
Birth Place: Matarobi, South Blue
Background: Seeley was born on Matarobi in the South Blue. For 4 years, her life was spent picking flowers with her mother and listening to her father tell her stories from when he was a pirate - he had stopped to settle down and marry Vesnia. Then, her mother had a second child, Sookie. Unfortunately, Vesnia passed and left Branko as a single father to care for his two children. He told the girls stories of their mother and for another 2 years the girls lived in peace with the only grief being the loss of their mother. Everything seemed perfect, that was till the world government had caught wind of Branko staying on Matarobi so they quickly did a buster call on the island. They killed everyone in hopes that Branko and any of his family line would be deceased. The world government had a rat though, and the Vodu crew made sure that Branko had information so he could flee with his family.
Branko had decided that his peaceful life would be over, so he tried to travel to the North Blue where his sisters lived and where he could settle down to raise the kids. As they sailed away from Matarobi, they had attracted the attention of the marines and were viciously attacked. Branko faught back with Sacrilege, but they ship was wrecked and the family was lost to sea. Fortunately, they ended up of Kuraigana with Dracule Mihawk.
Mihawk was against Branko initially, as he was a shichibukai and it was his duty to help the world government, but seeing the two young children the pirate had made Mihawk reconsider. The family of three lived with Mihawk, and eventually Mihawk and Branko became lovers. They shared similar views, and Mihawk had been lonely for a long time so it was obvious he had been looking for someone for a long time.
When Seeley turned 7, Mihawk and Branko began to teach her. Branko had already taught her a bit of muay thai, but they went more advanced and the couple soon realized that Seeley had great potential to be an excellent pirate. During this time, Branko would said with Seeley and Sookie to the North Blue to visist the rest of the Crvena family. Whilst on this island, Seeley took it upon herself to explore and she happend to stumble on the Demetriov brothers - took boys around the age of 10 who were slaves to the celestial dragons and worked as circus members. The boys took her under their wing and they taught her many lessons and skills, such as contortionism and how to steal. Seeley slowly found herself forming a second family in the two boys, and they formed a mighty trio. That was until Seeley stumbled upon the boys being punished by a celestial dragon; they told her to stay out of it, but she was too hot headed and it cost the brothers their lives. When Branko found her, Seeley was sobbing uncontrollably in an alleyway and he knew then she would have to grow up much faster than he had ever anticipated.
Her fathers kept her away from the North Blue for 2 years after the deaths of the brothers - they said it was to focus more on her training, but she knew it was because they didn't want anything else like that to happen to her. Eventually though, she travelled with Branko to see the Crvena family. During this trip, she met Alouette. Alouette would never tell Seeley her last name, but she knew she was rich due to the clothes she wore. Alouette was 13 whilst Seeley was 10. They formed a rocky friendship, and just like with the Demetriov brothers they became a pair. Alouette found out Seeley was sword training, due to her always carrying about a wooden sword, and took it upon herself to help teach Seeley. In return, Seeley taught Alouette how to steal and lie. It was hard for the older girl at first, but throughout the training they became closer. On her 11th birthday, Seeley was surprised to see that Alouette had brought 2 devil fruits. She said her mother had them imported for her sisters, but she used the thief techniques Seeley had taught her and stole them. They declared on that night that they were going to be friends forever, but it was short lived. Alouette's mother Yavnia found the two girls, due to Alouette's older sister spying on them and seeing what they were doing. Alouette quickly blamed the idea on Seeley and told her mother that Seeley had convinced her to steal them. Yavnia was infuriated and started to beat the younger girl, all the while Seeley was screaming and crying for Alouette to tell the truth. Eventually her pain and fear morphed to hot white anger and she swung at Yavnia, smacking her across the face. Unfortunately, Yavnia still believed her child and thus she put a bounty on the young childs head - 5,000 beli to start and it raised quickly to 50,000 beli once people learned that Seeley was a Crvena.
Seeley vowed to never make promises that she couldn't keep and hated the idea of making friends. Her fathers pushed her to train even harder once they found she had a bounty, and she molded into a strong young woman. Branko passed Sacrilege off to Seeley, and shortly after faked his death so he and Mihawk would be safer.
At 22, Seeley sailed off with her sister to become a pirate. However they were hit with a large storm and ended up seperated across the grandline. Seeley ended up in Thriller Bark with Brook, and after only being there a few days the Strawhat crew passed by. From there, Seeley joins there crew, planning to drop them as soon as they landed on a new island. Unfortunately, they ended up on an island with a celestial dragon circus, the same one the Demetriov brothers belonged to. This is where her past develops and the Strawhats stand up for her and win, earning her trust and thus she officially joins their crew.
