Yeah it's a shame it wasn't kept up for longer though. There are stupas and areas that had been destroyed as people were searching for golden buddha statues hidden inside, so some renovations have been made.

Sukhothai is the name of Thailand's first capital. It's now kind of separated into two parts, the old capital as it lies in ruins, and the new town that's built.

Mm I know what you mean ; the colours of the spire though are lighter than the rest of the bricks, so that didn't help
