Woo - I'm so glad you mentioned you used cities as a texture in response to other comments. I was sitting here squinting at the screen going "OFMG! HOW DID HE ADD IN ALL THOSE TINY BUILDING LIGHTS IN JUST UNDER AN HOUR?!" and then my brain was all boggled trying to figure out how to paint all that so fast until I read you used cities as a texture. x3
Anyway, I love the colors and most excellent use of atmospheric perspective on this! The way you rendered the reflective surface of the launch platforms really make the piece for me somehow and all that smoke and mist gives it a wonderful mood. Great job!

Yeah, I cheated some might say.
Im glad you like this one, i wasnt too sure about it myself...something isnt right, probably down to the composition...i decided to change the canvas size in the last 15 mins.... :-/

ummm....i dont know if there are any "rules" as such. Its 90% paint anyways, i just used some photos at the end of the paint to add some details to the buildings and ground plate. Do what you feel i think....
