Bob Hoskins was a British actor. He was the second actor to portray Mario in live-action, in this case, the Super Mario Bros. movie, which was released on May 28, 1993. Captain Lou Albano was the first actor to portray Mario in live-action. He played Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! which aired back in 1989. Sadly, Mr. Albano has passed away too.
