honestly, these were just for practice so any anatomy flaws I won't be fixing, since it was just practice and it doesn't really matter to me if it's picture perfect at this point, but i do see what you mean.

Thanks! ^^
The wolf was my least favorite to do, because I kept wanting to draw him like a gray wolf, cuz the anatomy just seemed so off half the time. lol

Aha yeah! There are some crazy looking canines out there. Sometimes I just look at pictures of live ones and think "The anatomy's off!" 'cause they're just so WEIRD.

wow, huge improvement!! you do wonderful anatomy studies; I tried some today and didn't have any patience, since there was no way it was going to look better than the photos I referenced lol.
the deer is my favorite and I can't wait until they appear in votw <3

The trick really is to keep it as simple as possible. I tried doing some more indepth ones of the faces and feet, but i just couldn't focus on anything but the main anatomy ones. lol
But you should post or send me the ones you did. I'd like to see, and I could help by redlining or tips or something if you feel they aren't good enough. I'd be more than happy to help you.

yeah, that makes sense.
it's not that I don't think they're good enough, but I think there's only so much you can study from mammal anatomy. nothing is really drastically different between species. so since I don't have any upcoming comics with animals I haven't drawn before, and I haven't been commissioned to draw any stranger animals, I just don't feel like studying all this different anatomy is worth the effort. if anything I'd try drawing more reptiles and fish because it's different and helps with drawing fantasy.

that makes sense. That's why drawing the maned wolf was hard because it's anatomy was so morphed from standard wolves i felt like I kept drawing it wrong. lol
I personally wouldn't do a bunch of different ones all at once, but since you have humans in your comic, no matter how small of a part they play, I noticed some little issues, like hands, that could definitely be improved on, though I personally can't redline, since mine aren't perfect either, but learning human hands and feet and stuff is pretty easy since you have those things, and a reference is always there.
But even if you just take one small thing, doodle it for a bit, and then go back to working on your usual stuff.
And if you have something (like dogs) that you are very comfortable with the anatomy and the general way you draw them, work on different stylizations depending on character personality, or gender, and even the difference in species and breed (like the difference between coyotes and wolves.).
And reptiles, fish and birds would be an interesting thing to learn. there are lots of different mammals too that have way different anatomy. Like no two rodents look the same. my hamster, gerbil and guinea pigs all look totally different even though they're all rodents.
And the fact that you notice that most mammals have similar anatomy is also a step, because then you can study, and elaborate the similarities and differences. I've always loved studying skeletal structures, and picking out the differences and similarities between humans and other animals.
That and studying real animals helps when you want to create a fantasy creature as well.
