P e r s o n a l i t y : Sol’s personality is much like his given name. Warm, passionate, open, friendly, and light hearted, he goes into things head-on and is confident in all that he does. He can be a bit flirtatious around girls though; it’s kind of a bad habit. Still, he always puts others before himself, and although at times he may not think before he acts, whenever he’s doing something, he always sticks it through.

Before Entering Moonrise Academy:
Sol was an illegitimate baby of an ordinary Japanese woman and a famous Korean actor. Because of the drastic difference in class and status, his mother had to leave and go back to Japan, leaving his father and himself behind. This happened when he was barely 2 though, so he never really got to see her. All he saw was the lasting footprints and accomplishments of his father. Needless to say, he was inspired by the man to also become a K-Drama actor, and was actually very successful in that category in his early life between the ages 5 to 10. When he reached his pre-teen years, he was sought after by a music agency, in which his young voice dominated the boards. At this point, he had everything that a pre-teen could ask for: money, fame, respect… but he was missing something. He was missing a mother. He’d never asked his father about it until then, five years after his debut as a Korean idol, but when he did, he realized that a whole different world had opened up to him.
He became enamored with Japanese culture, wanting to learn more about his mother, despite not knowing what she was like at all. Eventually, when he turned 16, he stumbled along a flyer for Moon Rise Academy as he kept on researching of the lifestyle. This is perfect. It provided an opportunity for Sol to expand from being not only popular in Korea, but also in Japan… but that’s not important. The more important thing was that this was a chance to find his mom. “Would she finally be able to see me? Would she want me back?” He didn’t really know what he would say to her, or if she even remembered him from his years as a baby, but it was worth a shot.
During Moonrise Academy:
A lot has happened since that first day of school. For one, he encountered a sister that he wasn't even aware of named Matsumoto Shigeko, born from a rape and cared for by a single mother. Although she was only 10 years old, it was through her that Sol learned that his mother was dead. Apparently she had been long gone for 3 years already, much to Sol's surprise. This put a big strain on his relationship with his father, since his father had known for those years already, but refused to tell his own son, who moved to Japan with the sole purpose of finding his mom.
While Shigeko was then sent over to Korea to be taken care of by Sol's father, Sol then spent his days focused on school and his relationships there, one relationship in particular, Kashiiya. She was beautiful, talented, studious, and everything all at once, but more than that, she was passionate and outspoken, she was the person he grew to love; she was his greatest friend. But all good things must come to an end. With her getting kidnapped and abused by a psychopathic photographer, Sol managed to come to her rescue... but he began to trust himself less. He started to doubt himself more, worrying more, not being himself more, and the fact that his father didn't approve with his relationship with Kashiiya didn't help. After another serious of kidnapping and internal struggles, his father decided to transfer his son to Sunrise Academy. Although it wasn't too far away, he could somewhat keep his distance from those personal thoughts yet have a good opportunity for his acting career, maybe even more opportunities than in MRA.
Throughout all of this, Sol still had a group of people he could go to: the Aero Knights. All of those personal matters? Well, those were personal, and although they have affected him immensely, he couldn't let that get in the way of professionalism. As an idol and as a student of Moonrise, he decided that he'd smile anyways, for himself, for those around him, and for his fans. He joined after hearing about it from his roomate Kaito, and as unit leader, he kept everyone together, focused, successful, and just plain having fun. Aero Knights became his way of escape and to just enjoy life as an idol, even if he had things all wrapped around his head. Although moving to Sunrise Academy would make things slightly more difficult as AK's leader, he wanted to push on, staying devoted to his unit while still managing with his solo acting career, as well as just finding himself as a person in this new kind of environment.

Relationships:
Sol's got a lot of relationships from MRA in which I don't wanna clog up space so lol xD
Matsumoto Shigeko:
Sol's half sister, born from the same mother, but a different father. An energetic child dispite her circumstances, Sol cares about her greatly and would definately want to see her again
Young Chul:
Sol's father. He's a famous K-Drama actor, initialy inspiring Sol to focus on acting himself. While he used to have a strong relationship with his son, that bond has withered a bit, since he did technically lie to him. He didn't do it out of malice or greed though! He just didn't want to see his son feel hurt, which is why he's back at it again when seeing Sol and Kashiiya hang around each other so much: they reminded him of himself when he was their age. Though.. there's more to see later on....
Matsumoto Rui:
Sol's mother. He never knew her at all, as a child or growing up. All he knows about her is that she was Japanese, she gave birth to Shigeko, she never for a day forgot about him... and that she died 3 years ago due to cancer.
