So when I'm not being a victorian earl or lady, or a sweets-obsessed angel, or a sleeping princess, I happen to be a busy performing arts college student.To play Christine in Phantom is my dream of all dreams. I saw the show when I was 12 years old and it helped me discover who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. You can imagine I was excited in musical theater class when my teacher assigned me "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", Christine's powerful solo about moving on from her late father's death. Jokingly I turned to my wonderful seamstress and said "Hey! Make me the dress!" Little did I know that she would! Now I have this beautiful piece to wear for my performance.
I'm not sure if I'd ever cosplay Christine at a con, but I definitely will be getting alot of use out of this dress!

The Wishing Gown has always been my favorite dress in the show and I have always wanted one of my own. (-cough mildly jelous-)
Also fair warning cosplaying Christine at a con is hard. I went to a convention in the dressing gown and no one really recognizeed me. If you want to be recongnized a lot for your character than I would not do it. But for me I had fun despite it because I was a character whom I truly loved, i also later learned that the day I dressed as her it happened to Be ALW's birthday!. And I also almost immediately ran into another Christine. We had a moment.
It was quite fun, despite the lesser degree of Photos taken.

Mine too! I'm not sure quite why, but it's always stuck out to me.
Hmm, yeah I can understand why that would be. Especially since Phantom isn't in really of the geek genres that cons are so centered around. But yeah, definitely loving the moment in character is what it's all about!
