It says in the allegiances of Into the Wild, "Ravenpaw- small, skinny black tom with a tiny white dash on his chest, and a white-tipped tail". But that's okay, different people have different thoughts on what the cats look like~

um, i just re-read the 1st book, and it says firepaw saw a small lean black cat. apart from his white tipped tail, his fur was jet black.
