Description
The Christmas lights are all lit up
Everywhere throughout the town
Now climbing off the bus, it´s cold
He wears the same old frown.
Trudging through the night, he walks
To his address alone
Lights twinkle now in gardens
Warmth glows in every home.
At his gate the street lamp´s out
No moon, not even stars
His house abandoned in pitch black
Looks so dismal in the dark.
His decorations long ago
All boxed and packed away
Now old and very out of date
They´d once seen better days.
Why should he make the effort,
With Lights and Christmas tree
When no one´s there to share it with
No one else will see.
So he closes out the world again
Bolts up his old front door
Till the festive season´s well and gone
And he can go on as before.
