I'm so curious on why the snikerdoodle is jaz a human which suddenly crash lands (goku style) into an "earth" filled with humanoid animals. At first when I first saw jaz's face was a human, I cringed a little. Because it reminded me of when I was a kid bringing thoughts on "what if's". Like if the mask from the movie "The Mask" where to be in the my little pony world and wreak comedic havoc.
This felt like the concept of a human in a anthropomorphic world (for instance) was made by a kid with vivid imagination. Sort of like when people are young (like me) they imagined entering a world that wasn't human. And imagine what would the population of that world would react seeing a human. Or the concept of crossovers breaking the rule of logic. Like if a human where be able to accidentally show up in the mlp universe. Would he still be in human form? Will he be a stallion with human intellect? Its a fun idea to talk about. I was just thinking on that time people think that's foolish or stupid. But now I like it because i haven't seen anyone else do it before. I'm sure its been done before. But for me its a new experience. So to sum it up, Why did you chose jaz to be a human? Was it because you wanted to do this since you were young? Was it because you just thought it be a cool idea to do? I'm just curious. If you don't want to answer by all means please don't . I'm worried it might lead spoilers or you don't feel comfortable about it. BTW thanks for reading this far. U care :''3

Jaz being human is primarily because I wanted him to stand out. Originally he was a blue fox-type character, but in a world full of animal people, the only thing I could think of that would make him "different" was "oh gosh! he's blue!". Being human makes him drastically different from everyone else, and sets up a whole bunch of questions: how did he get there? Where are the rest of the humans? Are there any humans left?? What would happen if he was found out??? And so on!
I also wanted it to be a reverse of cartoons/stories where an animal/alien/monster/furry creature appears on a human world and is the odd one out: now it's a human boy who's grown up around animal people with no idea where he came from or even what he is.
But with the help of Meli, they'll hopefully find out together!

Shades of C.J. Cherryh's Cuckoo's Egg, it's not an exact match... actually about all that matches is, "lone human child grows up around non-humans and ends up in an adventure," but it suddenly jumped into my head.

And here I thought he was meant to eventually find a way/item/spell to transform into a fox which would help him to not be hiding all the time D:
