Description
So this is Grunty, or Gruntilda from Banjo-Kazooie.You may or may not recognize this version of her. It is from the original game and is seen at the Game Over sequence in which Grunty captures Tootie and becomes her desired form.

Oh wow... just wow! Now THAT is sexy!
Again, love the fine details like shadowing and light reflection! This is definitely going to my favourites. Gruntilda was always a favourite of mine even though she's the villain, and made all the more desirable a character because the animators added that game over sequence showing the outcome of not beating her, I totally got what Grunty meant when she said she was 'prettier than tootie'!
Anyway I digress, the picture and description fit perfectly and I'd love to see more artwork of her. I don't suppose you could do one for Sexy Gruntilda like you did for 'Cuddly Peach' if that's possible please?

The one thing I always wondered is what would happen to Tooty after becoming ugly. The only thing I can guess is Gruntilda takes her in as a minion.

Thank you so much! I thought she would be a great character to draw in this version. I would have drawn more of her, but unfortunately she isn't all that popular. Banjo Kazooie is well known, but this version isn't as noticed since it's such a small part of the game... But still, definitely a lot of fun to draw her. I think this version of Grunty is pretty damn hot. When drawing her, I didn't want her to look overly evil, because it can be kind of unattractive when you take the expression too far. However, I thought she would look great with a sly grin which is interestingly conceited and sexy at the same time. Also, I don't normally want to make the breasts so large on my drawings. I tried to match the original proportions of the character here though. It's funny seeing a character with such large breasts in what otherwise appears to be a harmless platformer... but was is Rareware and they made Conker's Bad Fur Day. They got to have their fun even when it's not being shoveled into the game design lol. Same sort of large breast design applied for Humba Wumba and Honey B. from Banjo Tooie as well... maybe a Gruntilda x Humba Wumba drawing would be good. ^^

Pretty good artwork on "game over" Gruntilda. I wonder if that was her original form, anyways? I once had a headcanon that she actually did resemble that initially, but then her powers morphed her into becoming something twisted and insidious (think along the lines of how Palpatine got deformed in Revenge of the Sith). I actually included her in a Pokémon fanfic, actually (the plotline was based on Beast Wars: Transformers, and she effectively stood in for Rampage. You know, that psycho immortal Maximal-turned Predacon experiment that made even Hannibal Lecter seem like a decent guy, and transforms into a crab? Basically she was to be an experiment gone wrong under similar purposes, which also explained why she seemed to have a knack for not dying. Keep in mind this was before Nuts and Bolts came out. Well, the fanfic overall was a combination of Pokémon and Star Fox, but that saga in particular was taken directly from Beast Wars.).
And is it just me, or does Gruntilda's standard form (not her game over form), not to mention her Nuts and Bolts incarnation, strongly resemble that of Dr. Weil from the Mega Man Zero series (in particular the face)? I think it probably would have been really awesome if, right before her final battle, she gave Banjo and Kazooie a huge rant about how she cannot die and wants revenge against everyone on the Isle of Hags for her situation like Weil did to Zero here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNKadD…

There is quite a similarity between the two. Especially with Gruntilda's Nuts and Bolts form. And I can definitely see the facial similarities as well. I wonder if part of her design was inspired by Dr. Weil. It's interesting how many things can influence us as people. Maybe of them we will never even know about.
I think it would be pretty awesome if the game over version was actually her original form. Might even be cool if she found an alternative way to attain it, then challenged Banjo and Kazooie anyways just for the trouble they caused her. It would be pretty awesome to get a good sequel to Banjo-Tooie. Nuts and Bolts wasn't bad, though it wasn't the traditional format of the game. Banjo-Tooie was a hell of a platformer.

Just so we're clear, are you referring to her Nuts and Bolts form, or her standard overall form? If the former, that might be the case, but if it's her standard overall form, I doubt it, as the first Banjo Kazooie was released six years before Mega Man Zero 3, which was Weil's on-screen debut (he technically debuted via the stinger for Mega Man Zero 2, but only as a voice). Banjo Kazooie was released in 1998, and Banjo Tooie in 2000, while Zero 3 was released in 2004. If anything, it would have been in reverse, Dr. Weil's design was based largely on Gruntilda, assuming of course the guys who did Mega Man even considered Gruntilda when designing Weil.
I'm still a bit surprised at what Gruntilda can live through, though, headcanon or not. First game, she not only falls from an extreme height, but then gets squished by a boulder, and it was pretty clear that she survived that (it's not even likely her bones were broken since, aside from her being a literal walking skeleton in Banjo Tooie, she was also clearly attempting to lift the rock off her based on her dialogue as well as the animation of the rock, and based on her dialogue that night [which definitely had to be far later than before since it was clearly dark out], she's not even suffocating). Then in Banjo Tooie, which aside from the aforementioned status of being a walking skeleton as a result of what happened earlier she actually survives being blown to heck from dropping a really dangerous spell onto the Hag 1 to such an extent that the only thing left of her body is her HEAD. Maybe she IS like Rampage after all (after all, that guy ended up surviving what amounted to having a nuclear missile launched at him in Agenda Part III). Bowser survived many of these things and worse, but New Super Mario Bros. aside, even he didn't suffer the kinds of things Gruntilda did, especially when unlike Bowser, where the stuff he suffered from literally can be brushed off, the stuff Gruntilda suffered from actually did have consequences that carried over into the next game. In a way, she's actually very terrifying if you put it that way.

Thank you. It is certainly rare. I would not expect her to be very popular. Though I had been playing Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie recently and it crossed my mind how fun it would be to draw her. I had some time think about it and finally, I decided that I was just gonna do it. I'm quite glad that I did so. ^^

Y'know, I had weird feelings in me when I was 11, when I first saw the game over scene in 2000 (having gotten an N64 in Christmas 1999), so I kept replaying that scene a few times.

lol That is interesting. I remember that when I first saw it, I was completely shocked, for one I did not realize that it was a game over screen until the words showed up on screen, and then when I did finally realized it. I was amazed that they took the time to create such a detailed game over. Most of the time it's super bland without really giving you much insight of what is really going to happen. I mean, it wasn't super detailed, but it was pretty cool. I imagine it was something that they just simply could resist creating.

Sadly, they didn't bother to make one for Banjo-Tooie. What could've happened, in my opinion, was that Grunty got the life force into her, which not only restored her flesh and blood but made her into that sexy bombshell again, ready to rule an island full of zombies.
