Calhoun must have died a few times, even if she respawns thats still pretty depressing to imagine…on tumblr someone added:
(( What if in Hero’s duty, once you get to a high enough level, Calhoun is eaten by a Cy-Bug, seeing as how you’ve learned enough from her, she asks you to mercy kill her before she goes insane. ))
(( This happens every game ))
(( My headcanon is that Hero’s Duty is halo level depressing ))

Wow, so dramatic! Never played Halo specifically, but I've played my share of depressing games, and I can totally see Calhoun dying in-game as a scripted event.
