If Coraline's dead and remained as a ghost, her real parents, the other Wybie, and the real Wybie will miss and never see her forever. How sad.

I know of a fate worse than that death: What if the victim became the murderer? As in I just had a random idea of a fanfiction story where what if that "there's one tiny thing we have to do first" was instead revealed that... Beldam is another kidnapped girl? An alternate universe I have in mind is where she's instead not the first Beldam but the current one as she was kidnapped long ago as once a Beldam kills three kids, a fourth one must be chosen to be the new Beldam to keep the curse going. So basically, Beldam's begging for Coraline to be the new Beldam so she can be finally freed from this hellhole of a world and possibly the other three kids too. It's basically a dilemma of "Do you save only yourself or will you sacrifice yourself to save others?"
