Description
The story I am telling is a story I once heard of from a friend, of a friend, but this story is not one of those stories that never happened. Today we have a love story told over and over again and no one knows if this tale to be real. The characters’ names are forgotten, and the setting is a mystery to everyone who shares its events.
I believe this love story can be true and as a writer my job is to write this great story. I do this because I want future generation to be inspired by it the way I am inspired. For the story and to avoid complication I will call the male character Y and the female character X.
Y is a young man of average height, with short black hair and light blue eyes. He has small round eyeglasses he needed since he was a young boy and without them he is blind. Y is known for a having both a volatile and caring nature to him. His volatile personality prevents him from not helping others and this got Y into constant fights growing up. Some people always have to protect the little guys.
Y’s parents died in a car accident during his childhood, but no one remembers how it happened. Accented happen everyday and many involve mysteries. His parents death leaves Y and his younger sister as orphans. Their parents left them the house and enough money to last for years and for some of those years they are happy.
A problem rolls its ugly face when Y’s younger sister gets sick. I do not know what illness harms her, but she is removed from school. From staying at home she is moved to a permanent stay at a hospital. His sister’s sickness consumes Y’s life. He drops out of school to take care of his sister. He wanted his sister to move back home after her treatment, but the doctor tells him his sister’s condition is unstable and she might get sick at any moment in an unsafe environment.
Y spends the days with his sister at the hospital and at night he works nonstop. Every penny he earns he uses to fix up the house. He used the money to clean up the house and buy a high-tech air conditioning that will keep the air pure. After Y slaves for over a year, he can combine the money he earned and the money his parents left behind to fix the house. Everything he works for involves his sister coming home.
Two days before living the hospital she is sick again, but this time her condition is much worse. The doctors do everything in their power and Y never stops helping, but around one month after that day she dies. Her life is taken away two weeks before her twelfth birthday. I wish I knew how this young girl died, but every one track down all say the same thing, “that is one part of the story only Y knows.”
This moment changes Y’s life forever because of his sister. His sister gives him his volatile and caring nature. He has no more reason to live, but he refuses to die without saving a life. Failing to save his sister hunts him forever. It forces him to help people over and over again, trying to save lives. He tries so hard, but every time he does something nice he believes his actions are not enough. Listeners now know this young man’s story, but the girl he falls in love with still needs to be heard.
X is a little younger than Y, but just like him she lives a dreaded life. However first I must tell you about the way she looks. She is average height with bright green eyes that shined like emeralds and jade combined. Her hands are small and her skin is bright and her hair is wow. She has long brown hair with curls as graceful as the rising sun or an empty beach.
When X was young she and her mom would walk home every day from elementary school. On the way home they always cross a small bridge with a low level of water beneath the bridge. One day the rain comes down, but they still walk home safe under an umbrella.
When they got to the bridge this little X believes she sees a small dog at the bottom. Since she is a young girl she does not know better and runs to see the dog. The young X slips in the mud and slides into the water. With the pounding of the rain the water level reaches a level more than enough to take a life. During this moment of crises X’s mom cannot let the water take her daughter’s life. She runs for X leaping into the water. X’s mom is successful in saving her daughter’s life but she is not so lucky and dies beneath the pressure of current.
Fast-forward to modern time and anyone can imagine the emotional problems X lives with everyday. She blames herself for the death of her mother and her current life. However, her life reaches extreme levels when her own father blames her for the death of his wife. To cope with his problems, he turns to alcohol and alcohol leads to alcoholism. From there he turns into an angry drunk who hurts the people around him. In less than a year he loses his job because of the drinking. Unemployment angers him even more and once again he blames his daughter. He comes home one night drunker than ever. With a departed mind he hits X. It starts off with one shot once a week until things arrive where X’s life is in danger. The worst part is because she still blames herself and the thought of suicide clings to her like a parasite sucking the life from its host.
X develops the habit of leaving the house early ever day after an attack. She still doesn’t want her father to see her when he wakes up. Soon every morning is the same with her walking without direction. This time X has an hour before school and no student wants to go there right away. That’s when X gets a little hungry and finds herself in some random cafe getting herself some coffee and a muffin. The money came to her from the streets. During the last few days X kept finding spare change lying all over the road. Sometimes in life fate smiles to dose who need it. However, for humans to see fate is much greater challenge than fate seeing us. X walks through the front door and the bell rings, a young man behind the counter turns to see X. It has to be fate because she walks into the only cafe with Y.
Y got many jobs in the past to help his sister and this cafe is one job he cannot say goodbye too. Y wants no one to discover his history so he keeps most of the jobs because he wants his suffering to remain secret. No one ever helped someone with a frown, so a smile is what he wears. When Y sees X for the first time standing across the counter he knows something’s wrong. X’s father never hit her face and she believes no one can see her pain, but Y is able. He can see her pain, but most important he can tell that she was crying. After the death of his sister he never wanted to see a young girl cry. X’s sad eyes remind Y of his sister crying. That image of when his sister first fell to the ground in pain never stops hunting him to this day.
Y is trapped in a daze at the sight of X, he only snaps out of it when he heirs X’s voice for the first time saying “can I get a coffee and a chocolate chip muffin.” His first response is “got it” and he gets her a coffee and a chocolate chip muffin. She says “thank you” and his response is “come back whenever.”
Their conversation is normal when buying breakfast. X takes a bite of her muffin as she walks out the door. She cannot see the amazing possibility standing a few feet away in from her. She does not realise she found the one person who can save her from life.
X might not notice something special, but Y certainly does. He knows that she is the one who can save him from his life. Y leaps over the counter and runs out the door and as he heads towards X he screams “wait.” As X stands there confused. She tells Y “I need to get to school.” So Y offers to walk her there. She doesn’t know why, but she feels safe and agrees to walk with Y. On this walk they talk to each other for the first time telling each other intimate stories being heard for the first time. By the time X gets to the end of her story they stand beside at her school. She runs for the doors trying not to be late and with little time left X wave’s goodbye.
That day Y disappears. Like before the other story tellers never discover his mysteries location. Y reapers the second X walks out of school. He waits for her with flowers in hand and a smile on his face believed to be dead, X says “have you’ve been waiting out her all day.” With a bigger smile Y tells her “that’s ridicules, I had to leave to get you the flowers, now allow me to escort you home.” X brought no one home in the past because of her father, but this time X does not care. She feels so good to talk about her problems with someone that understands what it feels to live a life as hard as hers.
When they get to the house they find a dump. The grass around the house is dead, a broken car covers the front lawn and the house looks to be falling apart. Inside the house is even worse because the walls are falling, the selling is leaking, and a stench feels the air. When they walk through the living room Y notices a busted chair in the middle with a 1980s TV a foot away. The worst part has to be the unnoticeable floor covered in empty beer battles.
When they get to X’s room nothing wrong exist. The walls and floor are clean, the bed is nice, and the entire room is pink. X keeps her room identical to her childhood. She tells Y “keeping my room like this reminds me of a simple time. A time where I am happy and I still have my mom.” From those words everything is discussed. X tells Y about her life and how her mother died and Y tells X all about his little sister. They go on and on, throughout the day and night. Their conversation is interrupted at 2:00 am when a drunken man barges into the room.
X’s father arrives and he is hammered. At the first sight of someone in his house that he does not recognise enrages him. He screams at the top of his lungs, but he is so drunk that not a word coming out of his mouth is understood. X can recognise what comes next. She knows that he will hit her. X’s father rushes forward with a fist clenched in the air, X closes her eyes and covers her head in anticipation, but he never reaches her.
X takes a deep breath and opens her eyes to find Y in the way. This guy stands there taking blow after blow because he cares for her. X’s father hits Y over and over again, but after every hit Y still refuses to move. He is not going to let anyone hit X ever again. After ten minutes X’s father loses energy, lowers his bloody knuckles and stops hitting Y. When the assault comes to an end Y turns around and says “do you want to come with me.” That is the moment in X’s life she realises she loves Y more than anything else in the world. She discovers that there is no other place in the world she would rather be than with him.
She takes Y’s hand and together they walk out the door, but her father screams “you can’t take her. She’s all I got.” X and Y don’t stop. They keep their backs against this man as they continue on their way. That’s when a loud BANG is herd coming from behind them, X’s father has a gun. Y turns around revealing his own gun. I don’t know where Y got a gun, it has to be during his disappearance.
Y is ready to kill X’s father, but X notices kneader she or Y are hit. Y notices something else. He sees smoke coming out of X’s father’s head and blood falling from his mouth. The reason no one is hit and only one gun shot is hard is because the gun in X’s father’s hand points at his own head.
He chooses to no longer live and takes his own life. This man kills himself to free his daughter from himself. As he hits Y he realises someone is protecting his daughter and he is protecting her from himself. X’s father knows during those moments he has to protect his daughter for once in his life. The moment is daughter turned her back on him he understands the for his daughter to be safe from himself is for him to be dead. He shot himself to stop himself.
Sorry but that is all I know of this story. I don’t know how this young girl reacts to her father’s death and I don’t know where these two love birds went after this. The only thing I know is how much they love each other and how they saved each other. Y saved X from her hard life and X saved Y from his hunting regrets.
Thank you for listening to my rambling and remember the meaning in stories. This story tells us no matter how hard are past is, hope still exists and it comes with a chance of happiness.
