I always loved how he could transform with guns and blasters in one part.

It's funny because Edgar Rice Burroughs created The original Autobot in the 1910's.

But he turns into a weapon of mass destruction when threaten. Sounds like a harmless Decepticon with amnesia who wants to change his ways. Or like Hogarth said a little kid.

In a deleted scene where the Iron Giant goes to sleep in Dean's Junkyard it's revealed via Iron Giant's 'dreams' being broadcast onto a TV that the Iron Giant was originally supposed to destroy cities with 'friends'. Dean almost sees the broadcast but he wakes up seconds after the Iron Giant does which cuts the stream and both parties are wondering what just happened. (The Iron Giant didn't remember the 'dream')

I can actually see why they didn't as it might complicate the plot a bit. We know that he regains knowledge of all his weaponry after the bump is repaired, we know that he is programmed to respond to weaponry, but if that bump was the reason why he wasn't a walking death machine and it was repaired then what's to stop him from killing Hogarth? If they had an internal shot of him overriding orders internally than it would kind of solve it, but then we'd be curious as to what the original orders actually were.

Also I was a bit wrong. Dean wakes up at the last second and sees the chest cannon firing and destroying something, assumed be the earth. This could've caused Dean to have even more paranoia which could be taken care of as well. But all in all in order to solve everything that one scene could've caused it might've extended the movie by maybe half an hour.

The Iron Giant was based off a book titled "The Iron Man: A Children's Story In Five Nights". That book came out in 1968.
In my opinion, neither really ripped off either. The West and the East never really interacted a whole lot until recently - late 80's-early 90's. The Iron Giant movie, however, came out in the late 90's, so I won't disagree with the argument that that design was inspired by the Transformers.
And I definitely won't disagree with the fact that there's nothing better than a pissed off Optimus Prime.

One of my favorite parts in the movie where he's bending down as if to get a better look at Hogarth.

It's wrong to kill. But it's not bad to die.
How does this simple movie have so many awesome quotes and scenes and everything?

Actually, I am. I really sound like a hypocrite sometimes...and really, since I had to move to Florida, there's no real place to hunt anymore.

I hated that movie.
The Iron Giant I mean.
Ummm...
I grew up where hunting was a necessity.

*sigh* I miss my childhood.
man... 18's a little early for a mid-life crises.
Are you REALLY still here?

You must be really bored.

"You must be really bored."
It's not that I'm bored, I just need an excuse so I won't have to go with my aunt (who hates my ass and is a money-grubber) to her daughter's (who's a spoiled bitch) birthday party. And if I say that I'm too busy doing "work" - answering the to the very few comments I get on dA and fanfiction site - then I won't have to go deal with both my snotty aunt and my stuck-up slut of a cousin at the same time.
And where do you live? I'm intrigued...I mean, hunting wasn't a necessity for my family, but I did grow up with some hunting experience.

I grew up in a lot of places really, my parents couldn't stop fighting, so that usually ended up in divorce, and having to move. Mostly northern Maine (Way north, almost touching Canada) and eastern Alaska, there was a lot less need to hunt there though.
