Description I have to admit that I found puppet Ganon to be a little goofy looking my second time watching that cut scene. I guess I didn’t notice the first time around because I was so freaked by Ganondorf’s speech and the creepy music.
All of Wind Waker’s monsters seem to have that weird kinda-cute-but-still-bad-news vibe going for them. (Well, except for the Re-Deads. )

So I was trying to imitate the style used to depict Ganon in the opening for Wind Waker, but I couldn’t cut the paper that intricately. Maybe I need to try this on a larger scale next time. He still looks like a big scary pig though, so it’s got that going for it.
I’m not really sure what you call this style of artwork, other than silhouette. I don’t think it’s really minimalism, right? Augh, it is so very irksome categorizing artwork that isn’t a comic or some sort of literature.

Cut from construction paper in maybe about three hours.

Oh my gosh! This looks really good! Of course the clouds and the cutout of Link are perfectly Wind Wakery, but to be honest, the less intricate cut-out of Ganon actually really reminded me of the beginning art sequence of Skyward Sword, with the simpler, but no less expressive figures.
I'm curious, what did you use to cut these out with? A razor, maybe one of those razor-pens? Oh, I know they're not called "razors", there's some proper artsy-word for them, but it slipped my mind.

Oh yeah, I can see what you mean about the SS opening. Cool! So it's at least still very Zelda in style.
No, I didn't use anything quiet so fancy. It was just my little Swiss Army Knife. I didn't know there was an arty name for those razors. I always just call them razors. LOL

Indeedy!
You used a Swiss Army Knife? Wow girl, that's even more impressive, I guessed you were at least using a X-acto knife (that's what they're called, I remember I used one last year for an art class---they're amazing for small, minute details for artsy fartsy stuff. I suck with crafty stuff in general...my goodness, if I used a normal razor or knife or whatevs, things would have been AWFUL.) Sheesh! Man, you'd get through basic college art classes SO easily.

LOL. I appreciate the vote of confidence.
My art teacher has always told me that fancy tools are good to have, but a true artist can work with whatever is at hand.

Whoa awesome! The swirls! It's great! This medium really fits Windwaker's style!

Thanks! The swirls were by far the most challenging part of this piece.
I think they work well together, yes.
