an absence of emotion, well maybe. to me it looks more like she's waiting. thinking about what's going to happen after she puts on that red dress. i like the nice simple vertical flow here.

It's one of those pieces that look like it gives off a certain vibe-type sound.
Without the comic-style onomatopoeia.
That, and everything about this photo is beautiful. The lighting, the model, the colour scheme.
Great stuff, Kev.

You shouldn't feel odd about this image. You're right, there is the void aspect to her expression. Its a look that say's 'you shouldn't be looking at me but i can't be fussed if you do'. She looks so comfortable, almost seductive without any physical signs.....just those beautiful blue eyes gazing out of the image

I look at the picture, I expect her to smile, laugh, cry, toss her hair aside, but she doesn't. I continue to keep my eyes on her hoping that she will move about. Very emotive indeed.
Great job, it's gorgeous.

Emotive indeed, man. So smooth and flawless, yet troubled. Great mood. Beautiful shot.

I don't think I've ever seen a more simply beautiful woman. There is always something a little off in some way, somehow, but it's non-existent here. At least I cannot find it in this particular capture. About the feeling you're getting, I agree about the blankness, but it's not quite blank...there's an ever-so-slight positive expression - it's in the bottom portion of the face around the lips. Ok, I know I sound uber-anal right now...but I've been staring at the photo for awhile (during a phone conversation). There's another part, and I wish I could describe it better, but I will do my best - it's in the alignment and mismatching of the eyes. If you look closely (if you even WANT to freakishly analyze it to this extreme!) at the left pupil, it looks wider, giving her a semi-strange look in her eyes - this is mainly because of the angle of the shot...you can see the black eyeliner above on that left eyelid actually merges and blends with the black colour of the pupil making that pupil expand into the upper left (when you compare the two eyes, all this makes a little more sense, I hope!). Then the hair slipping down so effortlessly next to that left eye draws even more attention to the eerie sensation...it's as though the left eye is NOT looking directly at the camera...but the right eye seems to be looking precisely at you, and there's something about that combination that leaves us with an undescribable feeling of awe. Whew! Hope I even came close to expressing some of what I am seeing. May I add again that she is flawlessly beautiful to look at!

Awe shux, thanks...it's just the OCD in me, I guess. And I really, really love and appreciate all forms of art, though I am not in any way creative myself. I'm glad some of it made sense!

I think the blue in her eyes does a lot more than what they might be given credit for in this opportunity.

I definately agree. Her eyes are what does it for me in this shot. Not just the color though, but the capture of her expression. She appears not to be looking at a camera, but at... well, me! Beautiful shot, Kev!
