The Goombas are hitting on the floor for bad luck.The drawing is based off the Johnny Mushroom & The Kingdoms/Stupid Mario Brothers hit song "Let The Goombas Hit The Floor" - a parody of the song "Bodies (Let The Bodies Hit The Floor)" by Drowning Pool.
"Let The Goombas Hit The Floor" was originally partly featured in the Stupid Mario Brothers spin-off episode called "Stupid Mario Brothers: Operation Blind Storm".
