I entered a Sonic Fan Character contest this past weekend. Since the theme was "A Great Gatsby Party," I drew my characters in outfits inspired by the 1920's!
Rita Raccoon is here and ready to party! I heard the 20's was also known as the Jazz Age. When I hear "jazz" I think Super Mario Bros. 2. I asked myself "what if I could take a visual from the game to design her dress?" So the feature I looked at was the layered snow mounds of World 4. Likewise, I decided lilac (instead of royal blue) would also be a great color choice. The flower on her hat is also based on a flower creature from said game. Hope you guys like her!
