Description
The Manta Pirates were a group of mercenaries who ravaged the sea floors. Lead Black Manta and his brother Devil ray, the Manta ray pirates would steal tech and rob ships. Black Manta had a strict no kill rule unless necessary and believed that staying in the shadows and keeping a low profile was best for the brothers. Stealth is what kept them from being caught. However, Devil Ray wanted more then just riches. He wanted fame and to be feared. With the formation of the justice league and new villains coming forth everyday, Devil ray left the Manta Pirates and decided to make a Name for himself. Joining forces with other villains, he wanted the big fish and he eventual got what he wanted. He would late be killed by Deadman possessing Batmans body after a failed attempt to turn all humans into apes. The manta Ray Pirates layed low for a while due to Devil rays exploits making it to hot for them.

Years later after the JLU episode Destroyer, Black Manta would come out of hiding once more to raid Atlantice. Although it was never his intention, The raid went horribly wrong and ended with the death of Aquamans Son.
in his Rage, Aquaman Hunted down Manta and killed him with his bear hands. Not realizing that Black Mantas Son Jackson Hyde Witnessed his Fathers death at Aquamans hands.

Jackson has since took on as the leader of the Manta Pirates as Stingray and has only one goal in life. To kill Aquaman, and his Family.

Jackson Hyde is not yet aware that his is part Atlantean. He is only 18.

Stingrays suit gives him several abilities.

Super strength
Enhanced durability
Great speed in water
the ability to sea in the dark depths
Powerful energy blasts from his eyes
Atlantean steel weapons
Has a vast amount of technology and resources due to his father and unclrs legacy
