this is my entry for the Five themes contest - Pirates which is being run byWas tryng to finish my Voldemort pic, but just couldn't help putting in an entry. Hope you all like it.
Derwent HB, 2H, 5B, 3B, 9B on photographic Matte paper. 10hrs drawing time.

Thanks so much! And thanks for coming and having a look. Yeah this one did turn out dark, I don't know why I draw this dark, but I do like working with the shadows in most of my drawings.

Nah not over kill, just means you don't have to push as hard to get a real dark shadow.

I have been a bit caught up in some stuff!!
I am fantastic, couldn't be better!!! 
I got a new compy, 22" iMac so it is faster and I can do more art stuff on it!!! bought some new music off iTunes, Muse and Mando Diao!! AWESOME bands!! drew some new pictures that I have to finish and I will upload them!! and drew the M16 assault rifle and the AKM assault rifle!! they look pretty good!
hahaha!! Yeah no you don't get very many Aussies around DA!!

Thank you! I think the main way to get the highlight to stand out in his bandanna or in any drawing for that matter, is to really go deep with the shadow areas.

Thank you! I Actually did a "copy" of your Captain Jack yesterday, just to see if i could, you know. I really have problems with getting the right tone in my shadowing. Perhaps it's because i don't have any good pencil. Use the one i use in school for maths and stuff hahaha. Well, i've only been drawing for about three month so...

Yes, lots of messages between 2 sites now, ha! Just finishing up a scary one of Marilyn Manson for Halloween lol. Post tomorrow. God, you would not believe all that Drew is up to now. He opened for Ben Folds last night in Seattle WA, today he's off to New York for 3 shows, then to Texas, then back home, more gigs, then he starts another 3 week tour with [link] TOT but this time, it's with the ORIGINAL 10 members, who are MUCH better and more established! and he FINALLY finished his CD, but is not for sale yet. The mastered versions are SO much better!!! More soon Sal! Hope your health is better, if not manageable!

That boy of yours is so busy, an I can only imagine that he will get busier! Yeah jumpin between the site is hard work, but I can imagine it's even harder when you do as many drawings as you do! Your can do them so quick, takes me ages to find one then get motivated about drawing it, Also sent you a pick of the pic of the dogs and kids that I finished, not sure what email I sent it to though!

Nah I couldn't! I am a big Pirates of the Carribean fan, but I must admit, Davey Jones is my favourite, you just got to love those tentacles!
