I prefer the top design, it has a more complex feel to it.
BTW what kind of mission profile does the ship have?
Both are good ideas and nice concepts.

It's an Interceptor, standard propulsive acceleration is around 40G however like all interceptors, it'll have the ability to periodically move in straight lines very rapidily due to it's *micro-warp drive*.
Although it's a fighter, is operated by a single human pilot, it's 60 meters in span.

About 40% of the way through the modelling, should hope to post something on DA featuring this design before the end of the month!
Cheers

It seems to be a bit asymmetric, which is not entirely a departure from your design aesthetic, but certainly gives the form some dynamism. Hope to see more soon.

Saw your comment on sci fi meshes. Yep, asymmetry is pretty much standard design practise for me, although Gyoshi will be a hell of a lot more symmetrical (in the y axis at least) than most of my designs.
Thanks for the comments again!

Interesting.
I am partial to the more organic feel of the first version. That said, version two is cleaner, more aerodynamic. I would go for a merger of the two designs, because there are strong elements that complement each other well.
Also, I would consider doing this as a transforming design. The top version especially carries hints that it could have a "standing mode" - the muscular-looking modules, and the hints at articulation in the spaces between.
Keep going with this design - you're onto something real cool!^_^

Very beautiful! I am indeed impressed, and I look forward to seeing the fully detailed and textured version.
