This has been in the works for way to long. I called it my vine W.I.P... >.>So yes, here it is! Originally I had included a Bellsprout in place of the Charmander but felt it would be a nice tribute to the original 151 with these two since Chamander is more symbolic for Kanto.
Charmander was always my favorite starter. :3

I absolutely love those colors. There's a lot of subtle variety to them. Also, the perspective is really interesting. I think Charmander might look better with bigger pupils, but that might just be my predisposition to anime speaking.

So yeah, that cloud on the horizon just over the hill right next to Bulbasaur's head looks like Squirtle. When I saw it I thought it was a clever way for you to include him too but then you didn't mention it at all in the description. That crafty turtle be sneaking in the picture in any way he can XD

And charmander has always been a favourite of mine - charmander is my favourite Kanto starter, but chikorita is my favourite Johto starter.. and to decide between the two is kinda hard..
But the two of them beat ANY other starter out there!!
Also in Soul-Silver, I started with chikorita, and when I got to choose a Kanto starter, I naturally chose charmander.
So I'm happeh~

D: Yeah, I always picked Charmander myself, but that was because I started using him before I even knew what the series WAS, when I only knew that it was a gameboy game i wanted to 'quickly try', and not because I wanted a big ol' charizard in the end. It was just a nice surprise. :> Awesome lighting/coloring effects as always, and spbbt, okay, I get it... vine w(h)ip... , haha...X_X

It's good to hear you completed this after popular public opinion voted "yes" to wanting to see it go all the way. Not bad at all, it's refreshing to see some of the first generation Pokémon take center stage for a change. Dynamic approach combined with tight quality really allows one to fully appreciate the end result and your courageous efforts to the fullest.
