I didn't want her to look scared , kids always have this Innocence toward things ,they tend to be curious , we loose this sense of safety as we grow up,we stop looking at things the way we used to.
Also the axe of the Minotaur is lowered, his curious himself doesn't feel threatened or getting ready to attack,he's getting ready to meet her.
