it's been like ages since i last drawn a good illustration... i'm so bz with comics that i don't really have the time 2 draw something 4 myself... anyway... by some miracle i managed 2 draw this...i draw this as a way 2 relax from the stress of work... & like most of my stress-relieving-drawings it's crazy... & filled with a lot of details & of course tons of hair... muahahahahahaha...
i wanted 2 draw a mermaid in a more primal form... u know... originally most of the mythical magical fairy tale creatures r not as cute & pretty & nice as we all know today... in the older days they r described as dark & mischievous & often harm or likes 2 plays evil trickery on humans... & the same goes 4 mermaids...
but as time goes by people tend 2 soften up the stories & most of the dark scary stuff is taken out of 'em...
anyway... back 2 drawing stuff... u know... a lot of people have asked me how do i make my lines look so black & solid... & what program do i draw with that makes it look like that...?
2 tell u the truth i am a computer BAKA... i am not really that good with them... & although i can draw digitally i much prefer 2 draw with pen & paper... & how do i make the ink look so black... actually... the ink i use is NOT really that black... anyone out here uses pilot DR drawing pen? then u should know that the ink have a more grayish tint 2 it rather than jet black...
so 4 the jet black effect... well... that is all thanx 2 the magic of photohop... all i do is juz adjust the contrast & color of the lines... & with the right adjustments... the ink appear black & solid...it's all thanx 2 4 the photoshop lessons she gave me i was able 2 do this... ^^
okay... about the drawing itself... due 2 its size it took me like 2 days 2 draw... fyi i drew this on 3 pieces of A4 paper & later combined 'em in ps... & believe it or not this is drawn with mechanical pencil 0.5 2B leads... *i must've been temporary insane at the time...* regretted the decision by the time i want 2 do clean-up... it was like hell 2 clean with all the pencil smudges...
did my best with it with all my limited computer skills... i hope u like it...

Wow! that says it all really. I just stumble on you when I was looking at another site . Have to say that I love your work, you chibi and manga style makes me all warm inside! If you had a manga I'm sure that I would read, if for nothing else then the art!

thank you, i am glad that a lot of people like my art. i have come quite a long way since i first joined DA & i am so grateful that i did. i am doing my best to have my mangas published as volumes. so far i have only done a few short stories.
oh, that'e because some of my drawings are sold as stamps at makeitcrafty.com. they are used to make decorative cards, & some of the card makers know about my DA account & also use some of the images that i put here.
the images here are free so i don't mind it as long as you don't use them for commercial purposes.

Oddly enough I had seen those before, and they are on my 'to buy' list; though none of them were the images that I traced back to your profile here.
