Perhaps the comments here on DA have remained quiet on this but at least it's a photo worth looking back on in the future. The carefree times like this only last but a few years compared to life overall and you've done a nice job capturing the moment. From a photographical standpoint, nicely done. While it lacks any definite lighting, it's aparent that the majority is coming from the right side of the frame. The color and detail captured by the camera - well done. While a camera can often be given credit, it takes a photographer's timing and positioning as well to yield a good photo

*found the image when doing a random search for "Cody" just to see what's on here already before I upload a Cody series myself*

Thank you so much for such a detailed comment. I really appreciate it. As you can see I'm not too great of a photographer, but I love pictures & I wish I could learn more about it. I'd also love to have a commercial camera. I believe my ideal job would be to take pictures all day long! I really do appreciate the imput.

you're most certainly welcome.

Photography has always been a big part of me and though I don't have the money to spend on the big cameras, I do seek out the best for the lower prices. Between my website with nearly 15,000 photos (and yes, on its own server because of the traffic I get) and my postings here on DA, as you can see, I enjoy all aspects of photography but really do like photos of people. I had someone try getting in my face once about the ages I enjoy photographing most and in the end I won by simply stating the truth - as we age, we become set in our ways and nothing seems to change us. To capture expressions in their purest form, nobody displays them better than the kids and youth. Not getting into my past but when you've been let down, disappointed, discouraged, and forgotten by so many people you believed to have been important and close (including family), the little things like moments of joy and happiness are appreciated and you tend to notice sadness, depression, loniness, etc. more and more and only wish you could help even the slightest bit. ...it's just a sad world that we live in now that if you were to help someone, if you're not family, your a stranger and it's wrong in the eyes of so many. Now that my MOA 102905 Cody series is posted, perhaps you can see why I took time to comment here.

As far as my personal choice for cameras, I usually stick around $300-350 and right now, the best I've found has been Fuji's S-5100 (now out of the mainstream so chances are you'll find it cheaper if you do find it anywhere) or the replacement for it, the S-5200. All of my photos have been taken with either but primarily the 5100. Also, digital cameras usually are pointless for video but the Fuji cameras have impressed me giving better quality than many actual digital video cameras I've used. On my site, SpyderWeb and HalfPint are two videos completely recorded with the S-5100 (of course their quality is lacking so I could get the files down from their raw 800mb+ filesizes but still I kept them looking decent.

Thanks for the info on what camera's you use. I'm trying to save up the money to get me one that will do the job of well hmm...making me look better for one. I'm also wanting to take some photography courses, but that's been put on the back burner for so long that I've almost given up. (Almost, but not totally)

As far as your comments on children & youth, I have to absolutely agree with you. It's basically the only time of innocence & even yet sometimes that is taken advantage of.

I don't really know you or what has happened in your life, but I have a gut feeling that if we were to communicate about our lives & share stories, we would have a lot in common on some big scale. I, too, know the feeling of being "let down, disappointed, discouraged, and forgotten" I'm sad to say.
