With regards to 4-6, are you of the niche in tintinology that believes Tintin to be less than straight? If that is a misreading on my part, and you did not mean to make the captain and the reporter look romantically involved, my apologies. If you are of that niche, and you did mean for them to look that way, well...let's just say I prefer to differ with you on that, lest there be blood on the interwebs.

I wouldn't mind people who do say that Tintin is gay so much, if they had verifiable evidence that Herge meant him to be so. Those who do know best, who have done extensive research on the subject, and who have met with and known Herge when he was alive (i.e. Michael Farr and others) are on the "straight" side of the controversy, so to speak, whereas those on the other side have little more than grasping, unfounded speculations. Thankfully, though, the latter theory has not had much power in the Tintin fandom.
