Happy Valentine's Day

Today was Valentine's Day. As I walked through the hallways of my high school to my first class I could see couples holding hands, kissing, some holding cards, chocolates, flowers, and even some teddy bears and balloons. Me however well, I don't really have a boyfriend or even a valentine for that matter, I'm really shy and don't socialize compared to everyone else, well except a few people I know. However I was hoping to get a certain someone to be my valentine, the new Japanese exchange student Kiku Honda. We did talk a few times before and we sometimes sit together at lunch, plus he is really nice, but I was always so shy around him, so I had an idea if he even liked me, but I wanted to try something. I knew where Kiku's locker was, you see I recently finished working on a valentine's day card for him, it had a lot of Japanese things on it, mostly pokemon and vocaloid stuff. When I got to where the locker was I looked around to make sure Kiku wasn't there, I didn't see him so I quickly stuffed the card into a slit on the locker door and hurried away making sure no one noticed me. Thankfully I was able to get to class on time.
(Timeskip to lunch)
I was at the library, it where I like to eat lunch cause it's less crowded and more quiet here, plus I liked playing on the computers after I'd eat. I was sitting at my table waiting for Kiku to get here, sure enough I saw him and he came over and sat down. He actually seemed a bit happier then usual.
"Konichiwa (y/n)-san.", he said.
"Hi Kiku. Um you're looking a bit happy today. Something happen?", I asked.
"Hai. When I was getting my books I needed for next crass, a card ferr out of my rocker and it was decorated with Pokemon and Vocaroid stuff."
I knew what Kiku was talking about, that was my card I left for him but I didn't want to tell him it was me who made it.
"Really now? Did you read who it was from?"
"I did read it, but there was no name on it."
"What did the card say, can I see it please?"
"Oh sure." He pulled on the card. I took it and read it in my head.
'Kiku, ever since the day we've been friends I've been really happy, you've helped me open up more to people and I thank you for that. Your sweet, caring, strong and handsome all at the same time. I'm sorry I can't give this card to you myself but meet me under the big pine tree after school, I'll be waiting for you.'
"Aww Kiku that's so kawaii!" I squealed softly. "It sounds like you've got a secret admirer."
"Hai, it does sound that way."
"So um, are you going to meet this girl after school?"
"I'm not sure. I'm worried this might be a prank."
"Aww Kiku I don't think it is, if you don't go I think that girl would be really sad, and you don't want to see someone sad on Valentine's day. Who knows it might be um someone you know."
"I'rr think about it."
"Ok good."
Soon the bell went off.
"Looks like lunch is over, good luck with your secret admirer Kiku."
"Arigato, see you later (y/n)-san."
I headed out of the library. But my heart was racing, I just hoped Kiku would understand that I'm his secret admirer.

(Kiku's pov)
I was gathering my stuff in my backpack and closed my rocker, I was kind of nervous though, about the card I had gotten to meet someone, I might as werr see if it's rear or not, I knew where the trees were near the front of the school. So I put on my coat and headed outside. When I got near the trees I could see (y/n)-san standing under them, she was wearing her (f/c) coat and had on a pikachu winter hat and scarf and groves, I didn't think (y/n)-san would be the one who sent the card, she was rearry shy in front of others, even me. But I thought, 'maybe she is the one' so I went over to see her.

I looked over and I saw Kiku coming towards me, each time he got closer my heart rate was getting faster until he got to me.
"Hey Kiku. You waiting for your secret admirer?" I asked him.
"Hai, have you seen anyone come here?"
"No I just got here, I'm waiting for my (mom/dad/guardian) to pick me up." Though I lied about that part.
"Oh I see."
"Yeah." However I knew I had to tell him.
"Kiku?"
"Yes (y/n)-san?" I took a deep breathe.
"Iwastheonewhosentyouthecard."
"Um what was that? Srow down a bit. What did you say?"
I breathed out again. My cheeks were as red as the cheeks on my Pikachu hat.
"I said, I was the one who sent you that card. All the words I said in that card were true. Kiku, I wanted to ask you, will you please be my valentine?"
Kiku was silence for a bit. I took this as a no and I started to cry and sat down on the snowy ground. But then Kiku sat down next to me and wiped my eyes off with a clean cloth he had.
"(y/n) there's no reason to be crying." I gasped he dropped the '-san' he was serious!
"Why?" I sniffed.
"Yes, I wourd rove to be your varentine."
I got really happy.
"Kiku, may I give you a hug? Please?"
"Yes you may."
I hugged him, he stiffed a bit but hugged me back. I then let out a little sneeze.
"(y/n)-chan your gonna catch a cold out here, would you rike to come back to my prace and have some waem tea?"
"Sure Kiku I'd love to."
So we walked back to his host family's place. For the rest of the day we hung out together and even watched a anime movie curled up in a blanket together and eventually we fell asleep in eachothers arms. It was the best Valentine's day ever!

After Valentine's Day me and Kiku started going out as a couple and the both of us couldn't be happier. But soon came the time where Kiku had to go back to Japan since the school year was over. We both stood together.
"Well this is it huh..." I said.
"Hai. The schoor year seemed to fry by."
"Kiku, I'm really going to miss you..."
"I am going to miss you too (Y/n)-chan."
I started to cry, and Kiku wiped my eyes and cheek with his cloth he had.
"(Y/n)-chan just because I am reaving (C/n) doesn't mean our rerationship has to end, remember we exchanged cerr numbers and skype names?"
I nodded.
"We can stirr see keep in touch with eachother."
Soon the call came for the flight to Japan was boarding.
"Werr (Y/n)-chan, I wirr see you."
But before he could leave I took a big step and kissed his lips quickly. He blushed bright red.
"Sorry Kiku but I um wanted to kiss you, since we might not see eachother again..."
Surprisingly Kiku gently cupped her right cheek and kissed her lips.
"Arigato (Y/n)-chan, I know one day we wirr meet again." He then gave me a present. And I gave him one.
"Don't open yours untir we meet again ok?" I nodded.
I hugged him goodbye and he started to walk away, I couldn't help but starting to cry again. I watched as his plane took off. I then made my way home.

Three years had past since I have seen Kiku, I still had the gift he had given me before he left for Japan, but I have not opened it since then. Today was actually Valentine's Day, the same day two years ago when I told Kiku I wanted to be his Valentine. As I was finishing a pokemon drawing, my mom called me saying someone was here to see me. When I headed downstairs I was surprised to find Kiku was back. I went and hugged him.
"Kiku! I missed you so much!"
"I've missed you too (Y/n)-chan." He hugged me back and kissed my cheek.
"What are you doing back here in (C/n)?"
"I wanted to surprise you since it is Valentine's Day after arr."
"Oh and we are also celebrating our 3 year anniversary."
"Hai, oh (Y/n)-chan, do you stirr have that gift I gave you three years ago?"
"Yes." I went upstairs and got the bag.
"See what's inside." I pulled out the tissue paper and pulled out a small box. Kiku gently grabbed it and got down on one knee,
"(Y/n), I know we have been together for onry three years, and most of our rerationshkip was onrine, but the times we shared together, but I reft here, I wanted to see how far our rerationship wourd go, and now I think is the time to ask you, (Y/n) (L/n)..." He opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
"Wirr you marry me?" I started to cry.
"Yes! Yes Kiku I will marry you!" He stood up and slid the ring on my finger, he then pulled me into a loving kiss. This was the best Valentine's Day I could ever ask for.
