A Mer from my story, "Guilt".

Their appearance is somewhat based on my Gargoyles, but obviously more for an aquatic scene.
Unlike traditional "merpeople" they are covered completely in scales (too lazy to draw all of them x3), and their tails are NOT flat. I frick'in hate it when mermaids have tails flat like a dolphin's-- they are supposed to have FISHY tails! >:U
Oh, and my Mers only have four digits on their hands.

Their hair is sort of like an otters with that it keeps in warmth. It runs the course of their back like a mane, but stops at the flanks and turns into spines that run halfway down their tail.

Mers are greatly insulted by being called "merman" or "mermaid". They like to be addressed like any person.

I think I'll call this Mer.... Ray. C:
