Nanook is a famous author within Lorn. Although the manufacturing and distribution of books has come to a halt in the country to avoid distribution of books concerning Elders, Nanook has managed to publish and send out over a hundred different novels, and thousands of copies. He mainly focuses on writing informational books about Elders and plant life, but has also written books on subjects varying from information on the war, to pieces about old artwork.
Though Nanook comes from humble origins, he has risen to fame with his work. Another fact that also helps with his standing is that he has always been good friends with Rasputin Basilicus, the son of a once-powerful Canid in the war.

Nanook's Canid breed is based upon a Scottish deerhound/greyhound mix.
