Description I felt like drawing some of my wolves today, so I decided to make them a bit more unique in their facial construction.

From left to right:

Bane
Samon (Belly)
Pine (Frost)
Black (Moon)

Pine and Salmon generally have more common colours for wolves, while Bane and Black are obviously different.
Bane's pattern shows how pure and rare his bloodline is. He stems from a long line of striped Royals, that are considered very rare. He actually winds up gaining little respect for this feature, though, seeing as striped Royals are notoriously considered to be loners, as they don't conform well to pack mentalities.
Bane is raised in exactly that fashion-- traveling alone with his mother and siblings. Before he is even considered an adult, he is split from his family by humans. He wanders for some time, alone, before he comes to a large pack of traveling Royals. There, he makes his way into the pack as first a beta, for his sheer strength, and then as the alpha once the original one is killed in battle.
Bane is never given the second portion of his name, as he came to maturity outside of a functioning pack.

As for Smoke's odd colourations, he's just simply a bit of a mutt. His father was a wolf-dog hybrid, while his mother was a smaller Royal. Because of this mixture, he is smaller than the average Royal wolf, and his spotty, domestic-looking colours even transfer to his pups, Shicki and Smoke.
