Description Alternative/work name "Artist taking a break".

I have worked on this off and on for some time, it started out with a photo of the face and upper body. The skirt, hair and sky is handpainted.

This is a big file, so here are some detail pics [link]

I will also put up some process pictures on my site [link]

What a beautiful image! I love the whimsical, carefree feeling of the piece (the soft colours, the soft lines on her face); that cup of coffee floating by on a cloud is brilliant just all by itself!

I especially like the frame: aside from being a very nice frame (), to me it speaks of art as a small window into a much larger world, a world beyond what we normally see and experience; a world where anything is possible -- yet a world that reflects our own feelings and experiences.

Lovely work!

You are so right, to paint and use my imagination is actually a door to another world, sometimes a great adventure and releaf from the real world, sometimes stirring up lost or forgotten feelings. Thank you!

I really enjoy the close up's!
The show every detail, and personally help me bit with seeing up close how some of the colors look in skin.

Thank you, yes, I worked quite a long time with that until I find a way to do it. Hair is so difficult for me!

Thank you very much! Yes, I think it's the little details that adds that extra to a painting and makes it more alive.

As much as I am not a supporter of paint over type art, I think this is beautiful and your talent is there regardless.I love the colors, and the movement of her body. She has this cheeky look to her, and the frame mounted around her gives it an ethereal appeal. Great piece; definitely deserves a lot of attention.
