I actually like/draw a lot of manga D: But the ones I read aren't the stereotypical large sparkley eyed characters and such like Shojo Beat... I prefer a 'realistic' type of manga art, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Very funny by the way Love how that egg is sizzling on the hot guy's pecks~

Realistic manga's nice^^ I've read up to like half of Death Note, for example, and the art was pretty good I just see that manga is everywhere, literally, and people seem to get stuck there, not being able to draw anything else. But of course, if it's manga you like, then, by all means! Though I do think some anatomy knowledge makes better manga, so I guess you have to get out of manga to learn to draw great manga.

Yeah, I really like the Death Note (and Naruto Shippuden) style, mainly because it so 'anatomically accurate' compared to the big headed/eyed styles you usually see everywhere. Not that those styles are bad, I know a few people who have done wonderful artwork with those styles, but it's not for me.

Yep. That's one manga I don't mind at all.
I think that other kind of manga sort of goes with today's tendency of sticking glitter everywhere: lip gloss, vampires, na'vis... Why does everything have to sparkle nowadays??

Preferably I like things kinda dark or plain, it feels natural to me.

Yeh... I have no problem showing you, or other people who like this kind of story, my novel. My mom, for example, is more of the realistic novel type, and I think whe would not enjoy my novel much, or maybe take it seriously. Same goes for my dad, and so many others.

Anyways, aww that's so sweet, doggies and playgrounds; two nostalgic memories every child should cherish. And yeah, Manga... never really read it, but I have seen it. I can understand why you wouldn't recommend it to be a good artist's learning tool; very stylized, takes practice, and it can be very infectious to your style if you let it be so.

Teehee yes, I remember myself pretty clearly drawing those things. I must have been like four at the time.

I don't read much manga, mostly because I don't especially like it, but I must admit I don't have the determination or the money to be buying the publications one by one XD
