Thanks. Thought about inking, but when I do, it always feels shallow when I do.
I guess I should ink if I am going to add in more shading or colors with photoshop.

Well in photoshop/image/adjustment/ there is an option called level to control the luminosity and contrast of your picture. It's a very handy toll when you need to have a quick somewhat clean but still smooth inking from a sketch

Oh yeah. To clean the image I increase brightness +30 then clean whatever is left then increase contrast +30 to darken the lines.

The anime had about the same amount of popularity over at japan. That is why the anime is brought over to here. It is based on what anime gets the most viewers. Even before brought over here it was popular with the fansubs and whatnot.
