Description This week I've been going on a photography course. It was all black and white analog stuff. Quite the opposite of anything I've submitted to my gallery before. Here's probably my favourite picture I've ever shot.

You make up the story behind it.

edit-

WOW thank you all sooo much for the comments and favourites after this lil one was made DD. It really was overwhelming. As a thank you I've added it to my prints account. So go get it if you want to -> [link]

This is seriously my favourite photo from a non-professional photographer ever! You'd better have it up on your wall in Wolves next semester!

Yeah...I've seen this behaviour in my 2 year old...its pretty much when your kid shuts down and refuses to obey you any longer. Its kind of like when workers strike or when protesters engage in civil disobedience...but its more personal because its aimed at you, the parent. Nice capture...I think the exposure came out perfect too.

wow wow wow.... this is a great shot!

firstly, gd use of b&w.
very gd street photography here;
it's really quite a common sight but the way u took it...
the composition, the crop, the focus on the child and all...
very amusing.
i like how the adult's head is not seen.
brings me to the perspective of the child instead.

actually, i had expected more expression on the child's face.
like anger or frustration etc. since i was expecting him to be throwing tantrums
(thus he's lying on the ground).
but the fact tht his is almost expressionless is very intriguing, and even creepy to an extent.
he just lies thr in an almost stiff manner and stares up into the sky, it seems.
and it seems as tho the parent might just be annoyed and looking at the child exasperatedly.
hehe

all in all,
this is a wonderful shot.
congratulations on the DD.

Tantrum child, oh I love it....sometimes there is nothing to do but stand and watch, until they give up. Great shot and a very worthy DD.

I'm sure the parent will be pleased to know their childs behaviour won an award!

The posture of the adult implies that the child may have simply gotten out of the stroller and laid down calmly for no apparent reason. This in itself is tremendously amusing. The child however, looks like he just fell out of the sky and landed square on his back as though being blasted by the force of god. He's just so still and symmetric and flat, much unlike how I've seen most children. Excellent photo.

the kids appears to be protesting against something, defiantly and refuses to get up.. better call in the cops to haul him off street, he's blocking foot-traffic.

csmalls [2006-02-16 02:20:41 +0000 UTC]

gosh everyone seems to think the child got down there on it's own accord...which may be the truth, but my first thought was that the parent type person put them there on purpose...why?...I don't know. But that's what I thought. Once I saw a kid having a tantrum in the street and his mom got on the ground beside him and started having one too. I about died laughing cuz the kid stopped crying immediately and stood up out of embarassment. Parent:1 Child:0 ha ha
Anyway, this photo kinda reminds me of that experience. I love it. Congrats on the DD. You deserve it.

This is very sweet. The framing is interesting and I like the way that the adults in the shot only have the lower portions of their figures in shot. It reminds me of cartoons like "Tom and Jerry" where the cook was only seen from the waist down. Congratulations on getting the Daily Deviation for this too.
